Chapter 66: So Cunning~
“To be accepted as your disciple is such a great honor! Seventh Young Master, don’t tell me you’re unwilling?” Wuyan couldn’t help but interject again.
At Wuyan’s words, Ji Yin’s heart surged with frustration, making it all the harder to utter those three words: “I am willing.”
Seeing her remain silent, Wuyan was nearly beside himself with agitation.
Meanwhile, the Scarlet Flame Mink stealthily stretched its little paw toward the chicken leg.
Why weren’t they eating? If they weren’t going to, couldn’t they give it to him?
Ji Yin slapped its paw away. The Scarlet Flame Mink, cradling its injured paw, took two steps back in protest and complained, “Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!”
“What is it saying?” Ji Yin pointed at the Scarlet Flame Mink and turned to Xuanyuan Ji.
“It said you’re being pretentious, and also…” Xuanyuan Ji paused deliberately.
Ji Yin instantly grew anxious and pressed, “And also what?”
“And also, it wonders if you don’t want to be my disciple, but instead harbor other intentions toward me.”
“I do not! I just want to be your disciple!” Ji Yin blurted out at once.
“Hmm.” Xuanyuan Ji responded softly, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
“You big fool, you totally fell for his trap!”
“Trap your sister!”
Xuanyuan Ji feared you might refuse, so he set you up. He didn’t realize you’d already wanted to be his disciple for a long time. Suddenly, Xuanyuan Ji seems rather scheming!
Ji Yin looked up at Xuanyuan Ji. His desire to take her as a disciple was truly baffling.
“Why do you want to accept me as your disciple?”
Xuanyuan Ji set down his chopsticks, his brows slightly furrowed as though giving the question serious thought.
Ji Yin gazed at him intently, awaiting his answer.
“Out of boredom, I suppose.”
Those three words made Ji Yin’s eye twitch involuntarily.
...
Chu Yu was unconscious for several hours before he finally awoke. A searing pain coursed through his body; when Ji Yin’s thunder talisman struck him, he’d felt as though every bone in his body had been shattered!
That bone-deep agony still lingered, and he could barely control his limbs, his whole body stiff and unresponsive.
“Young Master, you’re awake?” Jiang Fan was left by Chu Shenghong to tend to Chu Yu.
With someone from the Chu family at his side, he could rest easier.
“Water…” Chu Yu’s chest felt as though it had been scorched by the sun for days, or roasted by flames; he desperately needed water’s relief.
A cup was brought to his lips, and he gulped it down greedily.
Sure enough, after drinking some water, he felt much better.
He tried to draw on his soul power—it seemed largely unaffected. Only superficial wounds. Good, good, nothing vital was harmed. Chu Yu secretly let out a sigh of relief.
Yet recalling the power of Ji Yin’s thunder talisman, he still felt a lingering dread.
Was that talisman truly forged by Ji Yin’s hand?
If it was a thunder talisman, why had he never seen one like it before?
Suddenly, a strong sense of humiliation surged within him. This was the second time he’d been defeated by that useless Ji Yin! Chu Yu clenched his fists in secret, vowing that only by skinning Ji Yin alive and tearing him apart could he quell the hatred in his heart.
“Young Master, would you like some more water?”
“Jiang Fan, why are you here? Has news of my injury reached the estate?” Chu Yu noticed it was a family servant tending him and immediately asked.
“Young Master, the moment word of your injury reached the Chu residence, the master hurried to the palace. His Majesty himself has come to Tianyuan Sect to deal with this matter.”
Even the Emperor had come to Tianyuan Sect? Had things truly escalated to such proportions? Chu Yu was shocked to the core.
