Chapter 105: Are You a Demon?

Ji Yun glanced at Ji Yin, feeling a fresh wave of headache. Why was this child always so troublesome?
“Father, where are my eldest brother and the others?” Ji Yin asked eagerly before Ji Yun could respond.
“They got separated and haven’t met up yet. From now on, you must stay within my sight.”
Ji Yin nodded obediently, at least for now.
“Daemon, aren’t you going to ask about Xuanyuan Ji? He shouldn’t still be missing!”
“Do I need to worry about him?” Ji Yin retorted.
“No, you don’t. So, keep staying single by your own strength!”
“Auntie, what’s most important is that you keep absorbing spiritual energy for me! Hurry! Don’t stop!”
While Ji Yin was busy bantering with the demon cauldron, a tempting aroma of food wafted nearby. Mo Chuan approached her and handed over something wrapped in butter paper.
“What’s this?”
“Killed a few wild beasts in the mountains here, roasted the meat.”
Ji Yin immediately unwrapped it; a rich fragrance hit her nose, instantly raising her appreciation for Mo Chuan by several levels.
“See, little demon, this kind of man is essential for family trips—no need to fear hunger wherever you go!”
The demon cauldron: …

“Look at Xuanyuan Ji, always with a cold face, so proud and stubborn. He just refuses to cook; I was starving most of the day!”
“You still remember that?”
“Of course I do!”
Ji Yin chatted with the little demon while chewing on the roasted meat.
Delicious!
The Scarlet Flame Marten stared longingly at the meat in Ji Yin’s hand, its little paws reaching out several times but too afraid to snatch it.
“Let me tell you, this might be your companion’s meat. Think about it—what ordinary beasts are there in Zhiyun Mountain? You’re lucky to have such a spirit beast!” Ji Yin warned the Scarlet Flame Marten as she ate.
The marten immediately withdrew its paws, looking terrified as if Ji Yin were a demon herself.
Ji Yin patted its head. “If you cause this much trouble again, I’ll roast you!”
The Scarlet Flame Marten was even more frightened.
It dared not argue since it was its greed for fruit that had attracted the winged serpent.
Looking up at Mo Chuan, it wondered what kind of beast this meat came from but dared neither to ask nor speak.
“Where are we headed?” Ji Yin asked while eating.
“Soon we will arrive,” Mo Chuan answered without revealing more.
They passed through a dense thicket and came to the foot of a cliff.

This cliff was unlike any other, carved with strange patterns that resembled symbols, though no one could decipher their meaning.
Ji Yin noticed a cave in the cliff, its interior pitch dark.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the cave and swiftly landed before Ji Yun.
“Master State Counselor, this cave is very spacious. The stone walls are covered in murals. About a mile inside is a stone door.”
“A stone door?” Ji Yun murmured thoughtfully.
Chu Yu and Du Wei exchanged a glance, communicating silently with information others couldn’t understand.
“Everyone, prepare yourselves. We’ll enter the cave now and uncover its secrets,” Ji Yun ordered.
“Yes!” came the unified reply.
Ji Yin stood at the back of the group, with Mo Chuan beside her.
“Mr. Mo, did you just discover this cave?”
“Yes, as soon as we arrived, this cave was right before us. ”
