Kunlun was a place shrouded in mystery, feared by the rulers of all seven kingdoms. Fortunately, Kunlun never meddled in disputes between nations, nor did it ever become entangled with any royal family. Ji Yun devoted himself to cultivation within Kunlun, knowing nothing of the world beyond. Ji Yin, on the other hand, brimmed with curiosity about this enigmatic Kunlun, wondering just how powerful it truly was in this world.

Before dawn broke, Ji Yin slipped back to his small courtyard. When the bell rang out, everyone gathered in the square to meditate, but Ji Yin chose instead to continue sleeping. Chu Yu had never witnessed such a scene before; everything before him was astonishing. He glanced back in Ji Yin’s direction, a mocking smile playing at the corners of his lips.

What did it matter if someone as useless as Ji Yin awakened? Chu Yu sat down, focusing his mind, and sensed a stream of spiritual energy swirling around him. The aura of the Tianyuan Sect was indeed extraordinary; he almost regretted not coming sooner, lamenting the time he had wasted.

If he continued cultivating here, surely his progress would far outpace what he had achieved before.

Outside the Tianyuan Sect, a carriage came to a gentle halt. “Young master, we have arrived.”

Xuan Yuanji stepped down from the carriage, gazing at the three characters spelling out Tianyuan Sect. Ji Yun hurried over, cupping his hands in greeting, “Forgive me, I was delayed by some matters and have come late.”

“The timing is just right,” Xuan Yuanji replied coolly.

“Please, young master,” Ji Yun said, leading the way.

With Ji Yun accompanying him, Xuan Yuanji entered the Tianyuan Sect. Wuyan followed his master, unable to make sense of it all. It had taken great effort to bring the seventh young master here, finally granting his lord a few days of peace, yet his master insisted on visiting the Tianyuan Sect himself.

Ji Yin, still drowsy, suddenly sensed Xuan Yuanji’s soul force and snapped his eyes open, looking toward a certain direction. That figure—who else could it be but Xuan Yuanji?

Wuyan noticed Ji Yin’s gaze and his heart trembled uncontrollably. Was the seventh young master truly so sensitive to his lord? He’d discovered his master’s presence in the Tianyuan Sect in no time at all.

Ji Yin’s eyes followed Xuan Yuanji until the latter, accompanied by Ji Yun, entered the Tianyuan Hall.

“Great Demon, it’s Xuan Yuanji!”

“What are you so excited about?”

“Whenever I sense his soul force, I just can’t help myself.”

Ji Yin shifted to a more comfortable position, closed his eyes again, and muttered, “Better to get some more sleep.”

“Young master, do you truly wish to reside in the Tianyuan Sect? What does their incomplete cultivation method have to do with us? This is not Kunlun,” Wuyan protested, still unable to understand.

“Ji Yun also hails from Kunlun. He and I are, in a sense, of the same lineage.”

“Master, I still don’t understand. Do you have some other purpose, or are you simply idly passing the time?”

“Idle. Do you object?”

“None at all!” Wuyan immediately fell silent.

Ji Yun personally went to arrange Xuan Yuanji’s accommodations. After much deliberation, he found that only the hall adjacent to Ji Yin’s residence was suitable. He ordered it to be cleaned and prepared for Xuan Yuanji’s temporary stay.

Ji Yun was eager for Xuan Yuanji to complete the cultivation method of ‘Return to Origin and Maintain Unity,’ and feared that the Tianyuan Sect’s environment might be inadequate for him.

“Master Xuan Yuan, your lodgings have been prepared. The Tianyuan Sect may lack the comforts of the Ji residence, and I worry it may not suit you. Perhaps you should stay at the Ji residence instead.”

“It’s no matter,” Xuan Yuanji replied calmly.

“If there is anything else you require, I will have it arranged at once.”

Xuan Yuanji entered the quarters Ji Yun had prepared, finding them not at all shabby, though the decor was somewhat sparse.

“This place is excellent.”
