Chapter 91: I Came to See You Off!
Du Tianhan charged at Chu Fei and brought his palm crashing down.
The surge of spiritual energy startled Tan Yingyao.
By conservative estimate, that single strike already carried the power of someone on the threshold of Martial Venerable.
And on top of that, he had cultivated the Blood Demon Hand, one of the forbidden arts.
Forbidden arts had no star rating, but most of them were stronger than five-star techniques.
With a martial skill like that, he was already qualified to stand toe to toe with a true Martial Venerable!
Chu Fei was strong, yes.
But when faced with someone like that, even he ought to find things troublesome.
Yet reality once again defied Tan Yingyao’s expectations.
Du Tianhan’s palm struck empty air.
Chu Fei’s figure flickered, and in an instant he vanished from sight.
When Du Tianhan looked around in confusion for him, Chu Fei’s mocking voice came from behind.
“What you say makes it sound like you’re both miserable and extremely illiterate,”
As the words fell, Chu Fei planted his foot on Du Tianhan’s back.
Then he seized both of his arms and yanked them backward.
“I really don’t like that.”
Riiip.
The sound of tearing rang out.
Chu Fei ripped both of Du Tianhan’s arms clean off.
Blood sprayed everywhere.
With both arms severed, Du Tianhan screamed in agony, nearly driven mad by the pain.
He had not even had time to unleash the Blood Demon Hand before his own hands were ruined!
“How is this possible? What are you…!”
Before Du Tianhan could finish, a blade of spiritual energy swept over him and neatly severed both his legs.
Losing his balance, Du Tianhan crashed to the ground, writhing in the dirt like a filthy worm, dark and pathetic.
Less than thirty seconds had passed since the two clashed, and Du Tianhan, despite his threshold-Martial Venerable strength, had already lost all four limbs.
Tan Yingyao could not help swallowing hard. It seemed that Chu had definitely gone easy on him the last time they fought!
“Other people are fools who get lucky. You’re just a fool who’s really fucking stupid.”
Chu Fei looked down at Du Tianhan and said, “I could’ve killed you in one hit just now, but you drank some blood tonic and thought you were back in business. What, do you think you’re the protagonist of a power fantasy and that you’ve got a cheat code or something?”
“Guys like you wouldn’t even survive three chapters in one of those stories!”
Du Tianhan wanted very badly to retort.
But the bloody reality was right there before his eyes.
He and Chu Fei were simply beings from different dimensions.
“Sp-spare me. Can you spare my life?”
At last, Du Tianhan’s face, as though it had been swept by a heavy machine gun, accepted reality.
Trembling, he begged for mercy, only hoping Chu Fei would let him go like a fart in the wind.
Chu Fei stared at him expressionlessly, as if looking at a clown, and that gaze pierced deeply into Du Tianhan’s last shred of dignity.
“Are you looking at me like you’re going to kill me? Are you saying I have to die? On what grounds?”
Du Tianhan roared, shattered beyond restraint. “You want revenge for those brats! But don’t forget, if it weren’t for me... they would have starved to death long ago!”
“We were the ones who saved their lives! We gave them a place to stay! So what if I just sucked a little blood from them?!”
“Who gave you the right to avenge them? What the hell are you? You think justice is in your hands, so you can just slaughter people at will? Stop with that sanctimonious bullshit!”
“I’m the one on the side of justice! You should be grateful I even let them live...”
Before Du Tianhan could finish, he saw Chu Fei raise his right foot and bring it toward his head.
“When did I ever say I was killing you for justice?”
All Du Tianhan could see was Chu Fei’s impassive face, his tone stripped of even the faintest hint of mercy.
“The only reason I’m killing you is because I feel like it. Just like stomping an ant to death on the roadside. Just like what you did to them.”
Crack!
With those words, Du Tianhan’s skull was crushed beneath Chu Fei’s foot.
After dealing with Du Tianhan, Chu Fei finally turned back to look at the children.
Even though they had witnessed a killing with their own eyes and were clearly frightened, they also knew Chu Fei had killed a bad man.
So they all called out their thanks to him.
“Are all of you orphans? Your parents are dead? Were they in a car accident, or did they jump off a building?”
Chu Fei asked them with great concern.
As soon as the children heard that, they could not help crying again.
Seeing the way Chu Fei expressed concern for people, Tan Yingyao could not help muttering inwardly: What a ridiculous way to show sympathy!
“Don’t cry. Crying won’t bring them back. What’s the point?”
Chu Fei hurriedly comforted them. “It’s fine. Life is full of disappointments. You’ll get used to it. Once you die, you’ll be able to see your parents again!”
That comfort did not help at all.
Instead, it frightened the children so badly that they no longer dared to cry.
They were afraid that if this big brother got annoyed, he really would send them off to join their dead parents!
Tan Yingyao’s mouth twitched.
At least your intentions are good. Also, maybe don’t go through with them!
“It seems I’m pretty good at comforting people after all.”
Feeling rather pleased with himself, Chu Fei gave the children a benevolent smile.
“Oh, right, let me introduce myself first. My name is Chu Fei, and I’m here to send you on your way!”
At those words, the children all looked at one another in confusion.
Tan Yingyao could even see that the timid ones had already wet themselves.
“Se-send us on our way?”
“Waaah, I don’t want to die yet!”
“Big brother, please don’t kill me. I haven’t even married a wife yet!”
Why are they crying again?
Chu Fei stared at them, utterly baffled, and could only frown.
“Stop crying. Who’s first?”
What he meant was, who wanted to leave this rotten place first.
But to the children, it sounded like:
“Who’s going to die first?”
Tan Yingyao could not stand it anymore.
If this went on, these children would really be scared to death by Chu Fei.
He could only call out, “Let me talk to them instead.”
“You look like you’ve been cursed by heaven itself. Don’t scare them,” Chu Fei said with obvious disgust.
I’m the one scaring them?
Who exactly is about to scare them to death?
And sure, I may be ugly, but my eighteen-year-old girlfriend is beautiful!
After venting bitterly to himself, Tan Yingyao finally put on a smiling face and spoke to the children.
“Children, believe in the light. Actually, both Chu Shao and I are supermen from the M-78 Nebula...”
Upon hearing Tan Yingyao’s words, Chu Fei’s face was full of disdain.
They were children, not complete idiots. How could they possibly believe such a childish story?
And yet...
“Uncle, you’re really a superhero?”
“Hooray, superheroes are here to save us!”
“Uncle, can you shine some light for us to see?”
The children swept away their earlier gloom and all grew excited.
Tan Yingyao shot Chu Fei a smug look.
That made Chu Fei a little unhappy. Damn it, he actually pulled it off!
“Chu Shao, you need to be gentler with children. Acting so fierce and scary will only frighten them,” Tan Yingyao teased.
A vein popped on Chu Fei’s forehead.
“Are you trying to tell me how to do my job?”
Just then, a little boy walked up to Chu Fei and, summoning his courage, asked, “Big brother, do you like superheroes too?”
Chu Fei blurted out without thinking, “Yeah, I just finished supering a person last night!”
Tan Yingyao covered the boy’s ears and said helplessly to Chu Fei, “Chu Shao... you really are beyond saving...!”
Chu Fei was about to answer when he noticed, in the crowd, a quiet silver-haired girl.
His eyes widened, and he walked toward her in disbelief!
