Chu Fei truly hadn’t expected Jiang Yunqi to respond this way. Wasn’t this a direct challenge to him? He, a seasoned veteran who’d spent years speeding down highways, was being provoked by this little rookie?

“Brazen scoundrel!” Chu Fei suddenly glared fiercely at Jiang Yunqi.

As mentioned earlier, each of these beds was equipped with blankets and pillows, so as long as they were covered up, no one would see what was happening underneath. Why else would this place be so thoughtfully devoid of cameras? Surely no one was really here just to watch a movie, right? Surely not?

Of course, Chu Fei wasn't desperate enough to put on a live performance for an audience. Even if he were, Jiang Yunqi certainly wouldn’t go along with it. But as for little gestures under the covers—who could possibly see?

Jiang Yunqi was momentarily stunned, but quickly caught on. She stared wide-eyed at Chu Fei, clearly not expecting him to be so bold.

“You—what are you doing?” she stammered.

Chu Fei leaned back, resting against the headboard, his posture lazy and his expression arrogant. And what he said next made Jiang Yunqi blush even deeper.

“Forget everything else, just tell me…”

Because of Chu Fei’s words, Jiang Yunqi’s mind couldn’t help but wander. She was an adult, and truth be told, girls could be quite lascivious in private too. She might not have tasted the pork, but she’d at least seen the pigs run. Out of curiosity, she’d once asked Roman for the address to certain websites. The pop-up ads for “sexy live dealers” had been annoying, but what followed had opened an entirely new world for her—a world whose doors she’d never quite managed to close since. She’d even picked up a few foreign phrases!

What am I doing? The recollection jolted Jiang Yunqi back to her senses, and she suddenly became the picture of a proper young lady who’d been led astray.

“Stop it, there are so many people here! Let go of me!” she protested coyly.

“Weren’t you the one who wanted to see if it was long or not?” Chu Fei chuckled, glancing around. “When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Look around you.”

It should have been a lewd act, yet Chu Fei’s demeanor was upright and unabashed. Jiang Yunqi glanced around; indeed, the other couples weren’t watching the movie at all. Some were locked in passionate kisses and embraces; others had pulled the blankets up over both of them—who knew what indecencies were taking place beneath?

This atmosphere, this lighting, this environment—it all made Jiang Yunqi feel as though even something a little out of line wouldn’t matter. She was beginning to understand why Roman had insisted on booking tickets here.

At that moment, Chu Fei slipped an arm around Jiang Yunqi, and her body fell against him, nestling into his chest. Feeling the strength of his arms and the firmness of his torso, Jiang Yunqi went weak all over, momentarily forgetting to protest.

On the surface, Chu Fei appeared calm and nonchalant, but when Jiang Yunqi’s head rested against his chest, he surreptitiously tightened his grip.

—You think I can’t win you over like this?

“How impressive…” Jiang Yunqi muttered under her breath.

Chu Fei was about to lower his head and tease her when—due to their position—he glanced down and caught sight of her pink camisole, slightly exposed and pressed by their embrace. Half-concealed, it was far more tantalizing than being completely undressed.

Chu Fei swallowed hard.

Jiang Yunqi, startled by his reaction, saw that Chu Fei’s bold yet gentle hand was making its way toward her. Biting her lip, she glared up at him.

Chu Fei pretended to be engrossed in the movie, deliberately avoiding her gaze.

Jiang Yunqi thought, I can’t be the only one at a disadvantage here, and began to retaliate in kind.

In such an environment, it was all too easy for sparks to fly. And just then, Chu Fei leaned in and kissed her. The two became more and more absorbed, their actions growing increasingly daring—

Until Jiang Yunqi couldn’t take it anymore and pushed Chu Fei’s face away with a free hand.

“Wait a minute, what exactly is our relationship right now?” she demanded.

“Is that your safe word?” Chu Fei retorted.

“Don’t change the subject!”

Chu Fei wasn’t the least bit annoyed. Instead, he smiled and shamelessly continued, “Be my girlfriend. I promise I’ll protect you—and make sure my future girlfriends never find out about you.”

This was the ultimate art of the ‘gentleman scoundrel,’ true possessiveness cloaked as warmth—protecting his girlfriend from being discovered by his other girlfriends. Who could possibly understand how considerate he was? He was just too kind!

Unfortunately, Jiang Yunqi failed to appreciate it. Instead, she became angry. “So just how many girlfriends do you plan on having?”

“Seven fiancées, five senior sisters, a beautiful master, Shen Miaoyu… Not many, just a dozen or twenty, give or take.”

“‘Just’? How can you be such a scoundrel!”

Chu Fei frowned. “How am I a scoundrel? If I really were, I’d just lie and say I’d only ever love you, trick you into bed, and be done with it. That way, I’d get kisses, hugs, and handholding every day—maximizing my resources in limited time. And if you ever caught me, I’d just kick you to the curb. Isn’t that right?”

He actually made a pretty good point. Jiang Yunqi found herself unable to refute him.

Wait, no, he’s just manipulating me!

Recovering her wits, Jiang Yunqi rallied: “Don’t even start! That’s just an excuse for your own infidelity!”

“Then let’s not overthink it,” Chu Fei replied decisively. “Let’s end it here, Jiang Yunqi. You’re a good girl, and someone like me isn’t worth your feelings. And rather than calling me unfaithful, maybe you just can’t hold my heart.”

Hearing these words, Jiang Yunqi’s eyes brimmed with tears. She’d never felt so wronged in her life.

“Aren’t you going to let go?” Chu Fei’s gaze dropped downward.

Jiang Yunqi, fighting back tears, retorted, “If you see someone about to cry, shouldn’t you have some kind of reaction?”

“I did,” Chu Fei replied earnestly. “I rolled my eyes.”

Jiang Yunqi: “…”

“Oh, I do have my difficulties…” Chu Fei sighed, then told Jiang Yunqi about changing fate. A slap, then a sweet—classic push and pull.

Jiang Yunqi listened, dazed.

“So that’s how it is…”

“You actually believe me? Don’t you think I’m lying?”

“If you wanted to lie to me, you wouldn’t have been so honest just now…”

“So, are you willing to help me change my fate?” Chu Fei winked at her.

Jiang Yunqi was wise to his tricks now. Wiping away her tears, she said, “That depends on how you behave!”

“In bed, you mean? Then you’d better save those tears for later!”

“Get lost!” Jiang Yunqi burst out laughing through her tears, her anger melting away.

After the movie, Chu Fei took Jiang Yunqi upstairs for dinner. With all that honesty between them, it seemed highly likely that tonight they’d share even more.

But just as they stepped out of the elevator, a couple hurried after them—the woman was Qu Yiyi.

As for the man, he pointed accusingly at Chu Fei and Jiang Yunqi. “Finally caught you shameless pair!”
