Song Yalan grew flustered when she saw Chu Fei, though she struggled to maintain her composure. She reasoned that the hired assassin must not have found Chu Fei yet; otherwise, he would not still be alive. Chu Fei was in no hurry to act. He sat calmly across from Song Yalan, lighting a cigarette as he appraised the stunning beauty before him. There was no doubt that the gray-brown cheongsam she wore suited her perfectly, accentuating her allure in all the right places: her flawless back, the curve of her chest, and her pair of long, shapely legs.

Under Chu Fei’s predatory gaze, Song Yalan felt uneasy. She picked up a lady’s cigarette from the table, hoping a smoke would help her maintain her calm and conceal any cracks in her resolve. With a click, Chu Fei handed her his lighter, the flame illuminating her delicate, pale face in the dim light. Her skin, cool and porcelain-like, gleamed under the glow, reminiscent of fine ceramics, irresistible to the touch.

After a brief hesitation, Song Yalan used Chu Fei’s fire to light her cigarette. She took a deep drag before speaking, “You’ve already had my body—what are you doing here now?”

Song Yalan assumed Chu Fei was unaware of her plot to hire a killer. All she could do now was feign ignorance, pretending not to know why he had come, hoping not to arouse suspicion.

“You hired someone to kill me,” Chu Fei replied, cutting straight to the point.

The words startled Song Yalan so much that her cigarette slipped from her fingers. He knows. That means he’s already met the assassin, but he’s still alive, which can only mean—

“As the saying goes, a day as husband and wife brings a hundred days of grace.” Chu Fei extended a hand to caress Song Yalan’s leg. “After I served you so well last time, and you still tried to have me killed—isn’t that a bit much?”

As he spoke, Chu Fei’s right hand reached out. Song Yalan allowed him to act, not daring to resist, though her eyes betrayed her panic.

“So the assassin…” she ventured.

“Is dead.”

Song Yalan sprang up to flee, but Chu Fei caught her at once.

“What are you trying to do? Let me go, you bastard!” she protested, struggling.

“What do you think?” Chu Fei sneered, his expression answering for him.

Suddenly understanding Chu Fei’s intentions, Song Yalan cursed him bitterly. “You animal!”

Her resistance only fueled Chu Fei’s excitement. With all his strength and skill, he subdued her, making her pay for her transgression: “Trying to have me killed, are you? Trying to have me killed, are you? Trying to have me killed…”

Song Yalan’s voice rose in furious protest, but soon began to change. Half an hour later, she lay collapsed on the sofa, staring vacantly at the ceiling, her spirit nearly shattered. Yet this was only an appetizer; the night stretched long ahead.

Chu Fei remembered the large floor-to-ceiling window in Song Yalan’s room—it must not go to waste. Song Yalan, shaken to her core, marveled at his relentless vigor. “You bastard, you animal, you mongrel—what do you take me for?” she cried, unable to suppress her shame and fury. Her feeble fists struck Chu Fei, who looked down at her with a teasing tone.

“You scoundrel, how can you even say such things?” Song Yalan raged, “Have you no shame? You’re worse than a beast!”

“Don’t expect too much from me,” Chu Fei said, carrying her upstairs. “I’m here for you, not for virtue.”

Once in the bedroom, Chu Fei prepared to go again. But outside the door came Guan Ya’s voice.

“Mom, are you in your room?”

Song Yalan was struck with terror. If her daughter witnessed this debauchery, she would be ruined.

Chu Fei, however, was unfazed. Song Yalan shot him a fierce glare, her eyes full of threat, terrified she might lose control and make strange noises. In her current pose, with her desperate backward glance, few could withstand such a test.

“A woman’s ‘no’ really means ‘yes’—understood?” Chu Fei paid her no heed. You tried to murder your husband—why should I be polite? Tonight, you’ll learn what I’m capable of.

“Mom, what’s going on in there? I think I heard something strange…”

Again, Guan Ya called from the door. Song Yalan had no choice but to speak. She forced herself to stifle her pleasure, calling out in broken tones, “I’m not feeling well, I need to sleep, don’t disturb me!”

After finally uttering those words, she hurriedly covered her mouth. Guan Ya asked a few more questions from outside, but Song Yalan was too overwhelmed to respond, especially with Chu Fei behind her now mocking her.

“The door isn’t locked. If Guan Ya sees you like this, won’t you die of shame?”

“You little devil, may you rot—ah!” Song Yalan glared furiously at Chu Fei.

“Speak to me with caution,” Chu Fei snapped.

Hearing this, Song Yalan grew even more afraid. With Chu Fei’s reckless ways, who knows what he might do? She could not let her daughter suffer the same fate. This torment was hers alone to endure. Forced by desperation, she dropped her pride and pleaded with Chu Fei.

“I beg you, don’t do this—don’t let Guan Guan see us like this, and don’t touch her!”

“Who are you begging?”

“You!” she replied.

“Call me Daddy.”

Chu Fei toyed with her, indulging his cruel amusement.

“Don’t push your luck. I’d rather die than say it!” Song Yalan gritted her teeth.

“Will you call me or not?”

Faced with Chu Fei’s domineering demand, Song Yalan surrendered.

“Daddy!”

Forgive me, husband. It’s not my fault. If there’s anyone to blame, it’s this little devil—he’s a demon.

Lying weakly on the bed, Song Yalan’s tears of humiliation streamed down her face. And just then, outside, Guan Ya called again, “Mom, why aren’t you answering? Is it bad? I’m coming in to check on you!”

As she spoke, Guan Ya turned the door handle, about to enter. Song Yalan was desperate enough to wish for death—if her daughter saw her like this, all would be lost…
