Chapter 83: Hall of Reincarnation!

“Chi King Mercenary Corps?” Qian Mo murmured to himself, his mind turning over the words. “What kind of thing is that? It was enough to have a Horse Village, but now there’s a Chi King Mercenary Corps? Why is it so different from the novel I read...?” After careful consideration, Qian Mo no longer believed in what he had seen in his previous life. This was a world in itself, and the story he knew was only a fragment—not the entirety. Therefore, many insignificant details never appeared in the original novel, and he decided not to follow its plot anymore. He would immerse himself in this world, going wherever it led him, playing along with whatever happened. Why should he care? Here, he was the master of everything; who could do anything to him?
“Originally, our village was independent. But one day, because of our good environment, food, and women, a peaceful village like ours was invaded by a group—the Chi King Mercenary Corps. Not only did they want to annex us, making us their subordinates so we’d provide food daily, they also took our women for their own pleasure. Every time, we were forced to pay them enough money. The people chasing us this time are a squad under the third captain of the Chi King Mercenary Corps, Mao Xia. They had their eyes on Mary’s beauty, and when we refused, we fled desperately. If we hadn’t met you, Brother Mo, on the way, we would have been doomed already...” Marley swallowed the food in his mouth, gazing at Qian Mo and recounting his woes.
After hearing this, Qian Mo’s interest was piqued. He set down his chopsticks, took a sip of tea, pulled out a box of cigarettes, and lit one.
“Hoo—!”
“How refreshing!”
He flicked the ash and asked, “Would you like one?”
“Brother Mo... what is this?” Marley asked curiously.
He stared at the strange object emitting smoke.
“These are cigarettes. Smoking them feels wonderful. It’s no surprise you’ve never seen them before—so far, I’m the only one who has them. Well, what do you think? Want to try?” Qian Mo tempted them, waving the cigarette in front of their eyes.
“Since Brother Mo said so, we won’t be shy!” Marley and Mary exchanged a glance and agreed.
There was nothing to be done; it was their first time seeing such a thing, and their curiosity was undeniable.
Hearing their answer, Qian Mo smiled, drawing two cigarettes from the box and handing them each one.

“When you start smoking, inhale slowly, bit by bit, savor the taste. Remember, don’t rush it; otherwise, if you smoke too quickly the first time, you’ll likely feel dizzy or choke.” Qian Mo cautioned.
The two began to smoke, inhaling and exhaling, “Hoo! So good! Just as Brother Mo said, the sensation after smoking is indescribably comfortable!” Marley exclaimed in delight.
“Yes, yes! It feels so nice. Aside from the initial discomfort, after that it’s all fine. It’s as if everything pent up inside was released,” Mary nodded, and they both continued to smoke.
“Surprising! You picked it up quickly. Compared to those others I gave cigarettes to, you’re much better,” Qian Mo said after taking another puff. He was referring, of course, to those members of the Xiao family.
“Tell me about this third captain of the Chi King Mercenary Corps—what’s his name?” Qian Mo asked.
“Brother Mo, his name is Chi Zhan. He’s fierce-looking and extremely cruel. Many women have suffered at his hands,” Marley replied.
“Chi Zhan? Why not Xiao Zhan? Someone who didn’t know better might think they’re brothers,” Qian Mo muttered, amused.
Marley continued, “Chi Zhan is a one-star Grand Fighter—a Grand Fighter! I don’t know when I’ll ever reach that level... Ah!” He sighed, his face full of sorrow.
“A Grand Fighter? Tsk tsk. Don’t worry. Before you met me, I couldn’t say whether you’d ever become a Grand Fighter. But now that you have... it’s no longer a dream.”
“A mere one-star Grand Fighter isn’t worth worrying about,” Qian Mo said, sipping his tea, his tone full of disdain.
“Brother Mo, are you serious? Did I hear you right? We can really become... Grand Fighters?” Marley asked excitedly, seeking confirmation. Even if he hadn’t misheard, it seemed too incredible to believe—after all, it was like a dream.
“You can. But... nothing comes for free. We can make a deal: I’ll help you reach a level stronger than Chi Zhan, and then you can take your revenge.”
Qian Mo spoke slowly.
They understood well what kind of world this was—nothing came for free. To become a Grand Fighter or higher, there was always a price to pay; sometimes equal, sometimes far greater.
“No need to worry. I’m only telling you what I can offer, and the choice is yours. Whether you seize this opportunity or let it pass, it’s up to you,” Qian Mo repeated.
“If I’m not mistaken, that third captain Chi Zhan will soon arrive in this village. Whether you want to take revenge yourselves is your choice.”

Qian Mo spoke.
“Um... Brother Mo, I know there’s no free lunch in this world. May I ask what I need to exchange for the chance to become a Grand Fighter or stronger?”
Marley knew it wasn’t his place to ask, but he couldn’t help himself. Qian Mo didn’t seem like the others; his instincts told him to trust Qian Mo, that maybe it was possible. He couldn’t deny his longing—to become a Grand Fighter! Who wouldn’t be tempted?
No, it should be said that both of them were tempted.
“Oh? So that’s what you care about! It’s not a big deal; I can tell you.” Qian Mo said, rising and walking to the window, waving his hand to create a barrier that enveloped the room, ensuring no sound escaped. He clasped his hands behind his back.
He said, “I want to establish a force, and to do so I need completely loyal followers. In exchange, I’ll help you become Grand Fighters or stronger, but you must join this force and be loyal to me. Let me give you some reassurance: as long as you don’t betray me, your lives after joining will be much as they were before, except that occasionally you’ll be called to carry out missions. The organization won’t interfere with your personal affairs otherwise. If someone tries to harm you, the organization will protect you. So, three conditions: First, you must be loyal to me. Second, we won’t meddle in your affairs; after joining, except for missions, your freedom remains unchanged. Third, unless permitted or until our force is powerful enough, even if you suffer or die, you must never reveal even a hint of information about the organization.”
“And the name of this force shall be—Hall of Reincarnation!”
After he finished, Qian Mo paused, then pronounced the name word by word. His aura sharpened, his expression grew solemn—he looked every inch the leader.
Qian Mo had made up his mind. Since he had come to the Continent of Dou Qi, he should establish a force of his own—one that would span the entire continent.
It would be the foremost force of the Continent of Dou Qi!
Those so-called ancient clans, the various pavilions and valleys—none of them mattered.
They couldn’t compare. Not even close.
