“At the dawn of chaos, at the beginning of heaven and earth, the restless spirits linger, the cycle of reincarnation unceasing, as ever in the Hall of Reincarnation. I am the sovereign of reincarnation, Emperor Mo!”
A faint voice began to stir, calm yet imbued with immense and boundless authority—an imperious presence that brooked no intrusion, the pride of a superior being.
“Chaos… at the beginning, heaven and earth… at the dawn, restless spirits linger, the cycle of reincarnation unceasing, as ever in the Hall of Reincarnation, sovereign of reincarnation, Emperor Mo!” Zhu Qingyi recited painfully, clutching his head, his complexion pale as he muttered the words.
After a moment of memory retrieval, the sharp pain in his head gradually eased. Lost in agony, Zhu Qingyi slowly regained composure, propping himself up on his hands from the ground.
Mo Qing stood silently before him, watching without disturbance, allowing him time to recover; this matter could neither be rushed nor delayed.
Rising to his feet, Zhu Qingyi exhaled deeply, releasing the overwhelming sensations of pain. He looked at Mo Qing and asked, “Hall Master, are you a Dou Emperor?” He felt as if he were dreaming—too unreal—so he shook his head to clear his mind.
“If you believe it, then it is so. If you don’t, then it isn’t. As long as you accept it with your feelings, everything is real. If you don’t follow your feelings, then it’s false,” Mo Qing said, hands clasped behind his back, standing tall. His demeanor now was utterly different from before; the gentle persona had vanished, replaced by a chilling aloofness.
A faint unease stirred in Zhu Qingyi, as if he had died once before.
He looked at his hands, eyes widening, and declared, “All of this is real!” Then, turning to Mo Qing, he pleaded, “Hall Master, I want to become stronger!” Clenching his fists, he stared intently.
“Rest assured, none who join the Hall of Reincarnation are weak. Each member who swears the oath receives a product of the Hall implanted in their mind. This product is the Reincarnation Codex you see. You actually awakened it long ago, but because you did not sign the oath within the Reincarnation Realm, it was never activated.”
Mo Qing then entered the hall, with Zhu Qingyi following closely. “Here, the portals you see are called simulated spaces. You may choose one that matches your cultivation level to train. Also, every newcomer to the Hall receives a Mixture Qi Pill.”
Mo Qing flicked his fingers, and a golden pill appeared in Zhu Qingyi’s hand. Zhu Qingyi carefully guarded the precious item.
“The Mixture Qi Pill—anyone who can endure the soul-consuming pain of the physical body after taking it can successfully transcend and become strong. Otherwise, you can only absorb half its power. Whether you reach Dou Emperor depends on your fate. I suggest you enter the simulated space first to train before taking the pill for safety. Your current body is too weak and would not survive otherwise. The Reincarnation Codex will tailor a body tempering method suitable to your condition, greatly increasing your success rate when absorbing the Mixture Qi Pill!”
Eager beyond measure, Zhu Qingyi bowed deeply, “Thank you, Hall Master! I’ll go immediately!”
“Go on,” Mo Qing waved him off.
Zhu Qingyi selected the simulated space for a Great Dou Master and stepped inside. Watching his fading figure, Mo Qing said, “How far you climb depends on your fate. The stronger you become, the more treasures you’ll help me collect.” He licked his lips, rubbing his stomach, “After all that, I’m a bit hungry. Oh right, I almost forgot—the Alchemist Guild has a farewell banquet tonight.” Glancing at the time, evening was near; the banquet was about to begin.
Mo Qing turned and strode out of the Reincarnation Realm, his white robe flowing behind him.
———
“Faster, faster! The farewell banquet is about to start; move quickly!” In the back courtyard of the Alchemist Guild, Frank waved his hand, urging the others.
Looking up, Frank saw the blue sky fading into night.
“Elder Mo will be returning soon; hurry up!” Frank called again.
“We know, President!” a worker replied, carrying a load.
After much effort, the food for the banquet was ready. The large white stone table in the courtyard was piled high with delicious dishes, each radiating an enticing aroma. Gazing at the food, it seemed as if the dishes themselves whispered, “Come, little darlings, come! Eat me and warm your belly—I’m so delicious!”
“Damn, too tempting,” Frank and the others swallowed hard, saliva pooling at their lips; each wiped it away with their sleeves.
At that moment, Mo Qing arrived at the guild entrance. Two guards standing watch saw him approach and respectfully said, “Elder Mo, President Frank has prepared the farewell banquet inside. Please come in and dine.” They bowed.
Mo Qing adjusted his collar, waved his robe, and said, “Alright. By the way, you two have been standing guard all day. Come join me for the meal.”
The guards looked at each other in disbelief, whispering, “Elder Mo, we still need to guard the door. Is it really okay for us to join...?”
Mo Qing frowned, “Hmph, what’s wrong with that? I’m the elder—do you not listen to me? Are you looking down on me?”
Startled, the two quickly shook their heads, “No, no, Elder Mo. It’s just that if we leave the gate unattended, someone might sneak in, and we’d be responsible!”
Mo Qing looked behind them, nodded thoughtfully, “Hmm, fair enough. Seeing your dedication, I won’t treat you unfairly.” He raised his hand, casting a protective barrier around the guild, then said, “Now it’s safe; no one can enter. Come with me to eat. I’ll speak to Frank myself, so don’t worry about punishment.”
“Alright! Long live Elder Mo!” the two exclaimed with joy.
“Look at you two, so happy. Haven’t you ever been to a banquet before?” Mo Qing teased.
“No, really, Elder Mo, we’re just guards. How could we have the privilege to dine with President Frank and the others?” they replied, nodding earnestly.
“Hmph! High or low, in my eyes, there are only two kinds of people!” Mo Qing said, holding up two fingers.
“What kinds, Elder Mo?” they asked curiously.
“Good and bad! The rest is nonsense,” Mo Qing clapped his hands. “Come on, follow me to the feast. If Frank complains about you, I’ll give him a thorough scolding.”
“Yes, Elder Mo!” they followed eagerly.
The trio walked down the corridor to the guild’s back courtyard. Frank, busy arranging things, looked up and laughed warmly, “Welcome, Elder Mo!”
“Frank, what a pleasure. Sorry to keep you waiting,” Mo Qing said, bowing slightly.
“Oh, no trouble at all. Where are your two friends?” Frank gestured to the guards behind Mo Qing.
“Greetings, President Frank!” they bowed.
“Frank, you’re not being very kind. This is a farewell banquet for Elder Mo, the guest of honor. How could you forget those two hardworking guards? Aren’t you being a bit unfriendly?” Mo Qing said, frowning playfully.
Frank laughed, “No, no. Today is Elder Mo’s banquet. You two, don’t just stand there—find seats quickly. Would Elder Mo have to scold me? The banquet is about to start!” He pointed to many seats behind them.
“Thank you, President Frank!” the guards replied.
“Go ahead. Consider this a night off. Eat well, drink well, have fun! No one can break through my barrier here,” Mo Qing assured them with a wave.
“Yes!”
They hurried to find seats.

“Heh, these two little rascals,” Frank chuckled at their happiness.
“They’re part of the Alchemist Guild too. Standing guard all day is tough. Don’t forget about them when there’s good stuff,” Mo Qing shook his head slightly.
“Hmm, Elder Mo, you’re right. I’ll correct myself. I did underestimate them before,” Frank reflected seriously and nodded.
“Let’s make sure we don’t leave until we’re drunk tonight!” Mo Qing laughed and raised his hand.
“Haha, yes, let’s not leave sober!” Frank laughed heartily.
The crowd in the courtyard cheered, “Elder Mo!”
“Good, good. Everyone, sit down and relax. Tonight is for unwinding!” Mo Qing waved his hands as the crowd took their seats.
Everyone thought, “Such a kind elder. If he were president, things would be perfect!” If Frank overheard, he would surely punch them all, leaving them with swollen heads.
A chef approached Mo Qing with a jar of wine, pouring some into his cup. “Elder Mo, please try our treasured Peach Blossom Drunkenness. You won’t be disappointed!”
“Ah! You little scoundrel! I didn’t know about this fine wine—you hid it from me!” Frank scolded jokingly.
Everyone laughed heartily.
“Well then, pour some for President Frank, too. We don’t want him upset!” Mo Qing laughed as he lifted his cup.
The chef quickly filled Frank’s cup.
“To Elder Mo, a toast from me, Frank,” he said, raising his cup.
“To that!” Mo Qing clinked his cup with Frank’s, and they drank deeply.
“Ah! Delicious! Truly a fine wine!” Mo Qing exclaimed.
“Peach Blossom Drunkenness lives up to its name!” Frank shouted in amazement.
The chef filled everyone’s cups. Mo Qing raised his glass, “Come on, everyone, cheers!”
“Cheers!” they all clinked glasses and drank in unison.
“Alright, everyone, eat up! No need to be reserved—take whatever you want!”
Mo Qing picked up his chopsticks and sampled the food. His stomach growled loudly—he had been reminding him for a while now. “You little scoundrel, why didn’t you feed me sooner?”
Everyone devoured the food greedily; the dishes were too delicious to stop eating.
The night passed with eating and drinking. Everyone was immersed in the warm, happy atmosphere—no fighting, just joyful feasting and drinking together. Such peace was what they all longed for.
Faces flushed red with intoxication, the night flew by swiftly. The stone table was cleared, dishes and wine emptied, even the bones picked clean, with no drops of juice left.
Their unleashed appetites were truly formidable.
All the wine jars were empty, not a drop left to be shaken out.
“Alright, folks, let’s head to bed!” Frank slurred drunkenly, staggering unsteadily and speaking in broken sentences.
“Okay…” the others replied.
Supporting each other, they staggered back.
Mo Qing remained sober—such a little intoxication was nothing to him. In his past life, he drank strong white spirits and never got drunk; these wines were negligible by comparison. Watching them stagger, he chuckled softly, shook his head, and with a wave, a steady wind gently sent them back to their rooms.
“That’s better. Don’t go getting anyone pregnant while drunk,” he joked, shaking his head. Then he glanced at the mess on the table and the empty jars below. Another wave of his hand, and a flash of light cleansed the area; the table returned to its pristine state, the surroundings neat and orderly.
Mo Qing nodded in satisfaction.
Clapping his hands, he vanished from the courtyard and returned to the room Frank set up for him. He filled a bathtub, soaked, changed, and lay down to sleep.
———
At the same time, Ma Lie and Ma Li were executing the task given to them by Mo Qing.
Following the map provided, they arrived at a desolate desert far from the Gamma Empire. This was a no-man’s land, and the night air felt chilling.
“Ma Li, we’ve arrived,” Ma Lie said, his Dou Qi wings fluttering as he hovered. He wore a black Taoist robe, hands lightly tapping, matching their location to the map.
“Is this the place the Hall Master mentioned?” Ma Li looked down.
“Yes, the domain of an ancient great power. Let’s go check it out.”
“Alright,” Ma Li nodded, deactivating her Dou Qi wings and landing.
“Be careful. Since the Hall Master sent us here, it’s definitely more complicated than it seems. I feel like something is watching us,” Ma Lie said, raising his hand to shield Ma Li and scanning the surroundings, frowning.
“Yes, I feel it too. It’s unsettling. Let’s act quickly,” Ma Li said, her expression bitter.
“Agreed,” Ma Lie nodded.
“There’s nothing here but sand. The Hall Master wouldn’t be so careless, so…” Ma Lie tapped the ground, “the ancient power’s lair must be beneath us, under the sand.”
“Should we blast it open?” Ma Li suggested.
Ma Lie paused, squinting, then nodded, “Alright, we’ll do it your way.”
“The red dot is right where I’m standing. Step aside, I’ll strike with everything I’ve got.”
“Good!” Ma Li’s Dou Qi wings lifted her into the sky.
Ma Lie summoned his Burning Wheel Wave Ruler. With Dou Qi wings ascending, he shouted, “One ruler, ignite!” and struck downward with all his might.
Sand and ruler collided with violent tremors, a loud “bang” and a whirlwind of yellow dust swept by.
“Break!” Ma Lie gritted his teeth. He could feel the ground was very hard.
The attack stopped. Ma Lie breathed deeply, watching the dust settle, eyes widening in disbelief, “How… how is this possible?”
His fierce blow had left the ground unharmed!
“Impossible!” Ma Li cried out in shock; she knew well the power of Ma Lie’s strike and was stunned the ground remained intact.
Ma Lie wiped his nose and smiled wryly, “Haha, interesting. As expected, the Hall Master wouldn’t lead us to something simple.” He looked at Ma Li, “We’ll have to combine our strongest attacks. Otherwise, we might be here breaking rocks all day.”
“Alright, let’s combine our strongest strikes,” Ma Li said, summoning a long sword.
The sword shimmered with pink spiral patterns and faint blue ice crystals. This exquisite blade, crafted by Ma Li’s Reincarnation Codex, was named “Ancient Crystal Ice Sword.”
“Let’s go,” Ma Li said. Ma Lie nodded.
“Burning Wave Extinction Slash!”
“Crystal Sky Shatter!”
“Ha!”
Their techniques merged, spiraling in the air as they hurtled toward the ground.
Such power even high-ranked Dou Zong warriors would hesitate to face.
“Break!”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The hard rock wall began to crack under the combined assault, creaking and snapping.
Ma Lie and Ma Li saw hope as the fractures spread, forming countless ripples.
But time was up. They stopped, catching their breath. Ma Lie stomped and cursed, “Damn it! What kind of rock is this? So hard!”
The rock had broken into a pointed downward peak—but was not yet shattered.
“No matter. Let’s rest and strike again. We’ll break it for sure,” Ma Li said, patting Ma Lie reassuringly.
“Damn it. That’s all we can do for now,” Ma Lie sat down.
Ma Li gazed at the stars and said, “Ma Lie, I feel like I’m dreaming. This strength came too quickly. None of us expected to get revenge so easily. I wonder what the future holds.”
“Who cares? I just want to become stronger and stronger. Though we’re Dou Emperors now, there are still Dou Zong, Dou Respect, Dou Saint... and above that, the elusive Dou Emperor!” Ma Lie raised his fist firmly.
“Yeah, ever since joining and meeting the Hall Master, everything changed. This world feels unfamiliar, but I’m excited. What kind of person do you think our Hall Master is?” Ma Li curled her knees and murmured.
“No idea. All I know is the Hall Master makes us stronger and helps us get revenge. The rest doesn’t matter,” Ma Lie shouted, lying on the sand.
“True. Forget the rest. Being happy now is what counts!” Ma Li stretched and stood. “Come on, one more time! This time, we’ll break it.” Her eyes narrowed on the fractured ground.
Taking a deep breath, Ma Lie said, “Alright!”
They soared high into the cold air layer, their speed unwavering. The higher they flew, the greater the impact force. Together, they could shatter the rock wall.
Stopping amid the chilling winds, they summoned their weapons and shouted:
“Reincarnation World Ending Slash!”
“Ice Crystal Azure Sky Break!”
“Ha!”
Their combined Dou techniques plunged toward the ground like a devastating celestial body colliding.
The tremendous impact and dual destructive force struck—
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The hard rock wall shattered completely before their eyes!
