“Ding! Host, you have a mission. Do you accept?”
“I accept!”
Mission: Please assist the Future Temporal Enforcement Police in apprehending the temporal thief. Reward: A pair of Sharp Eyes.

...

Temporal Police Station

This is a police station of the future, a place that maintains order across time and apprehends criminals.

“You there, kid—what are you doing here?” the guard at the door asked.

“I’m here because I received a mission request,” Qian Mo replied indifferently.

“A mission? With that scrawny frame, what could you possibly do? Come on, follow me,” the guard mocked.

Inside

“Hello, I’m Qian Mo. I’m here to assist you in capturing the temporal thief. Please tell me what I need to do,” Qian Mo said to the person behind the desk as he entered.

“Oh! So it’s Young Master Qian. We’re truly ashamed we didn’t come out to welcome you ourselves,” the station chief replied, wiping sweat from his brow.

Behind Qian Mo, the guard was already drenched in sweat, thinking, “Good heavens! I was just mocking this Young Master Qian. What if he kills me? But judging by his demeanor, he probably won’t be that petty.”

“System, what’s going on here?” Qian Mo asked the system in puzzlement.

“Host, you’re a wealthy young master with a very special identity. The system has arranged for you to belong to the Qian Clan in this world—a powerful and influential family,” the system replied coolly.

“The system is just too amazing,” Qian Mo said excitedly.

“Young Master Qian? Young Master Qian?” the station chief called, seeing Qian Mo lost in thought.

“Oh! Yes, hello! Are you the chief of this Temporal Police Station?” Qian Mo asked, tilting his chin with a touch of aloofness.

“Yes, I am the chief here. My name is Rou Hetian, but you can just call me Hetian,” Hetian replied, thinking, “As expected of someone from a great clan—every word carries such authority.”

“Hetian, tell me about the current situation with the temporal thief,” Qian Mo said.

“Please, have a seat. I’ll give you a detailed briefing right away,” Hetian beckoned, walking toward the sofa and handing Qian Mo a report.

Criminal

Name: Chi Benxiong
Gender: Male
Age: 33
Has repeatedly stolen temporal treasures and national resources, disrupting temporal order. Has hunted various species across timelines. Recently appeared on Golden Elephant Island in Year 156 of the Public Era, hunting golden elephants. Escaped pursuit by temporal agents.

“Heh! Chi Benxiong—interesting! Treating this as a family trial isn’t a bad idea,” Qian Mo said deliberately.

“Yes, Young Master Qian,” Hetian agreed immediately.

“Alright, I’ve received the mission briefing. I won’t linger—better to complete the task early and return to the clan,” Qian Mo said, stretching lazily.

“Take care!” Hetian said, watching Qian Mo’s departing figure. “Phew! Finally sent off this living Buddha. Dealing with someone from such a powerful family is always unnerving.”

...

Golden Elephant Island

This was a truly beautiful archipelago, home to many peculiar and exotic creatures—even the plants were restless.

“Haha! I’m back again—and I’ve escaped once more. These temporal police are really useless now!” a sly, mocking voice sounded.

Looking at the towering mansion ahead, “Tsk tsk! Golden elephants, you’re all mine now.”

Inside a tunnel

At this moment, Qian Mo was traveling through the temporal tunnel. “So this is a temporal tunnel? It looks just like in the anime! Clocks spinning everywhere—if I weren’t in good shape, just watching would make me dizzy.”

“We’re about to arrive. Host, prepare for landing,” the system’s voice sounded just as Qian Mo was lost in thought.

“3…2…1…”

“Ding! Destination reached: Golden Elephant Island, Year 156 of the Public Era.”

Golden Elephant Island

A fissure split open among the peaks of the island, and out stepped Qian Mo.

Coo-coo!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

Sefuu—

The cries of birds, the rush of wind, the sound of waves crashing against the shore.

Inhale! Inhale! Mm! This fresh air of the wilds is truly different—so refreshing! The sea brings a faint hint of seafood even in the breeze.

“I feel like I’ve reached the peak of life—so comfortable, so relaxed. I almost want to take a nap,” Qian Mo exclaimed, savoring the moment.

“Host, better attend to business first. When the mission’s done, the system will grant you a day to rest and enjoy the island. You can sleep as much as you like then,” the system reminded him.

“You’re right—business first. Damn it! Chi Benxiong, hurry up and show yourself so I can catch you,” Qian Mo said, clearly reluctant to leave his reverie.

Before long, Qian Mo descended the mountain, walking through a half-grassy, half-wooded area. Coconut trees lined the path, and odd little animals darted through the undergrowth.

Three hours later

“Damn! Where is that wretched Chi Benxiong? System, don’t you have any function to locate people?” Qian Mo called out quietly to the system.

“Yes,” the system replied coolly.

“Damn it! If you have it, why didn’t you say so earlier? You made me walk all this time—are you messing with me?” Qian Mo snapped as soon as he heard the answer.

“Host, you never asked. The system saw how earnestly you were searching and didn’t want to interrupt—giving you a chance to show your sincerity,” the system replied calmly.

“Fine, you win. System, activate full-island scan—find Chi Benxiong,” Qian Mo commanded.

Ding! Full scan mode activated! Target: Chi Benxiong

...

Ding! Scan complete. Target located—transmitting map coordinates to host.

Immediately, a light screen appeared before Qian Mo’s eyes, a red dot marking Chi Benxiong’s location.

“Ha! Little bear, I’ve finally found you. If I don’t give you a beating and roast you over a fire, I’m not worthy of my name!” Qian Mo grinned mischievously at the red dot.

Meanwhile, Chi Benxiong was engrossed in studying the golden elephants, oblivious to the chill that suddenly ran down his spine. “Huh? Why did I just get a shiver? Never mind.”

Qian Mo took a phase spray from his inventory and spritzed himself. “Here I come, little bear! Heh heh!”

With a wicked grin, Qian Mo dashed into the mountain. Thanks to the spray’s effect, he passed through the terrain with ease, making the journey much quicker.

Chi Benxiong was still delving into the secrets of the golden elephants, their origins and so forth.

“Wow! What a lavish setup—sofas, suites, machines, everything!” a voice sounded behind Chi Benxiong.

He spun around warily, weapon at the ready. “Who are you? How did you get here?”

“Oh? So you’re Chi Benxiong?” Qian Mo asked, feigning ignorance.

“Yes—no... Who are you? Are you with the temporal police?”

“Good, just as I thought. I was worried I’d come all this way for nothing. I’m not a temporal policeman,” Qian Mo sighed with relief.

Chi Benxiong relaxed as soon as he heard Qian Mo wasn’t a cop, but then—

“Well, since you’re him, you’ll come with me. I may not be a policeman, but I’m here to help them catch you,” Qian Mo said, grinding his teeth.

“You’ve made me search so hard for you, little bear.”

“Red Dragon, burn him for me!”

A jet of flame shot from Qian Mo’s palm, forming the maw of a dragon that lunged at Chi Benxiong.

“What—what is this? Let me go! It’s too hot! Damn you!” Chi Benxiong screamed in panic.

The attack was so swift, it was over in an instant. Chi Benxiong hadn’t even had time to react before the fire dragon wrapped around his waist, flinging him to the ground. His weapon clattered away—he was, after all, an ordinary human and could not withstand the searing flames. In the end, he passed out.

“So damn weak! How could a temporal policeman not handle someone this pathetic? Useless!” Qian Mo said, glancing at the unconscious “little bear.”

After notifying the temporal police—

Qian Mo turned his attention to the research notes on the desk. He found a secret room, followed it to the end, and saw a golden elephant trapped in a cage.

The golden elephant, seeing Qian Mo approach, readied itself to fight.

“Don’t be afraid. I’m not a bad person. I won’t hurt you. The villain outside has already been knocked out by me. I’ll let you out now,” Qian Mo said, releasing the golden elephant.

By this time, the temporal police had arrived. They loaded Chi Benxiong into a vehicle.

“Bastards! Let me go! You bastards!” Chi Benxiong raved.

A policeman slapped him. “Shut up! Stop your howling.”

“Thank you for your assistance, Young Master Qian! Would you like to return with us now?” Hetian asked cautiously.

“No, I’ll rest here for a day before heading back. The environment and air are too nice to waste by not sleeping,” Qian Mo waved him off.

“Oh, alright! We won’t disturb you, then. I’ll deal with that fellow right away,” Hetian said.

“Until next time, then,” Qian Mo replied coolly.

Soon, the group departed.

“Ding! Congratulations, host, on successfully capturing the criminal. Reward has been distributed—please check your inventory.”

“Fantastic! Another reward! Let’s see what these Sharp Eyes can do.” Qian Mo entered his inventory. There was now an extra pair of eyes—enchantingly beautiful.

Sharp Eyes: The possessor can inspect others’ levels, techniques, bloodline, and more, even those above their own rank.

“Wow! This is incredible! Next time I’m in a fight, I’ll check first—if they’re too strong, I’ll flee. Heh!” Qian Mo laughed mischievously.

“Host, the system despises you,” the system commented.

“That’s called a strategic retreat—of the thirty-six stratagems, running away is the best,” Qian Mo retorted seriously.

“So, host, would you like to integrate the Sharp Eyes?” the system asked.

“Of course—let’s begin!”

After integrating the Sharp Eyes, Qian Mo tested them on a local creature with excellent results.

Name: Foolish Rabbit (Adult/Thirty years old).
Gender: Female
Diet: Primarily herbivorous
Level: Multiverse Level Zero (Ordinary)
Activity: Prefers dawn and dusk, enjoys the scent of seawater, dislikes intense sunlight and generally doesn’t appear at midday.

“Host, you have one day to rest. Afterward, we’ll start the next world lottery. You’ll have one chance to pick your destination,” the system said.

“Alright.”

...

And so, the day passed quickly.
