The Xiao Family
“It’s been a month. They should be arriving soon!” Xiao Zhan muttered as he gazed out from the main hall of the Xiao family.
...
Inside Xiao Yan’s room
“Teacher, I’m ready. I can condense the Fighter’s Pill and advance to Fighter at any time!” Xiao Yan spoke with certainty to Qian Mo, his excitement barely contained.
Although the Great Brahma Golden Body was a physique focused on external tempering, the interior was still not as resilient. After all, Xiao Yan’s Great Brahma Golden Body was only at the Profound rank—quite low, but still impressive for him at this stage. He had managed, in just three years, to refine the low-level Yellow rank all the way to low-level Profound rank. No ordinary child could hope for such progress, but the most critical factor was Qian Mo, the relentless mentor.
“If you’re ready, let’s begin. Advancing with your physical body will be painful,” Qian Mo said, floating in the air as he looked upon Xiao Yan.
With those words, Xiao Yan assumed a seated position, legs crossed, hands forming a circle before his chest.
Soon, changes began to manifest on Xiao Yan’s body. Qi energy hovered around him, gradually enveloping him and slowly channeling into his body.
Xiao Yan felt the qi coursing along his meridians, his blood, his veins, and the qi itself—three forces running in perfect synchrony, until the qi halted at the center of his body.
Outside, Qian Mo watched the transformation unfold.
All the qi had gathered at the core within Xiao Yan. At that central point, the energies whirled around one another, slowly drawing closer.
Xiao Yan felt a burning sensation inside, as if he were being roasted by flames. His face contorted in pain.
Suddenly, the qi within him ignited.
“Ahhhhhh!”
“Damn it! It hurts so much!”
Xiao Yan cried out in agony.
“Ah, what a pity. The Great Brahma Golden Body is still weak; otherwise, it could protect his organs,” Qian Mo sighed softly. Yet it was only a sigh, for Xiao Yan’s life was not in danger—and with Qian Mo present, any mishap would be unthinkable.
At this moment, golden light radiated from Xiao Yan’s body—the unmistakable sign of the Great Brahma Golden Body.

Outside the Xiao Family

Not far from the Xiao family, a group was approaching, heading toward them.
“Qian Mo, this is the Xiao family—the place where Miss will be living,” a man atop a magical beast explained to the group.
“If not for the Xiao family’s jade pendant, Miss wouldn’t need to come here. The Xiao family has fallen from grace,” sneered a man from the Ancient Clan, his tone mocking.
“That’s not entirely fair. Miss’s health isn’t good, and the clan leader doesn’t want to involve her. Coming here is discreet, not a bad thing,” said the man steering the beast.
“Ling Ying, you must protect Miss well. The Xiao family isn’t reliable. Her life is not a joke,” an elder from the Ancient Clan warned. Their mission was to escort Miss safely—any mistake would be unacceptable.
“I understand. I will keep Miss safe,” Ling Ying replied.
“We’re nearly there. Let’s descend,” said the man riding the magical beast.
“Who are you? What business do you have with the Xiao family?” the gatekeeper barked fiercely.
“Hm? What’s this? Even the fallen Xiao family’s gatekeeper is a Senior Fighter? And the atmosphere here feels different,” thought the Ancient Clan members, surprised.
“Xiao Ze, do not be rude!” Sensing a powerful presence, Xiao Zhan hurried out from the hall to intervene. Addressing the newcomers, he asked, “Are you the old friend of our Xiao family’s ancestor, here to deliver his daughter?”
“What? This man is a Five-Star Battle King? Is this really the Xiao family I once knew?” The Ancient Clan members were astonished.
Unaware of their thoughts, Xiao Zhan waited.
The lead Ancient Clan member clasped his hands in greeting. “Yes, I presume you are the current head of the Xiao family?”
“Indeed!” Xiao Zhan replied, returning the gesture.
“We’re here to deliver the princess. This is her—her name is Xun’er,” the man said, tugging gently on the little girl’s shoulder.
“Hello, Uncle Xiao. My name is Xun’er,” Xun’er said, flashing a small tiger tooth smile at Xiao Zhan.
“Hello, Xun’er. Welcome to our Xiao family,” Xiao Zhan replied warmly.
“Go ahead, Xun’er,” the Ancient Clan man said, patting her shoulder with a smile.
“Mm,” Xun’er responded and walked forward.
“Head of the Xiao family, Xun’er is entrusted to you. Our mission is complete; we must return and report,” the Ancient Clan man said, mounting the flying beast.
“All right! Farewell!” Xiao Zhan waved.
With that, the Ancient Clan group rode their beasts away, leaving only three: Xun’er, Xiao Zhan, and Ling Ying.
“Head of the Xiao family, I will stay behind to protect Miss in secret. I am a Shadow,” Ling Ying said, bowing.

“Very well,” Xiao Zhan said, then turned to Xun’er, “From now on, you’ll take our family name—Xiao Xun’er. How old are you?”
“Yes, Uncle Xiao. I’m five years old!” Xun’er replied adorably.
“Oh? Five years old! Great, my Yan’er is three years older than you; he’s eight—the youngest in the family. You can play together,” Xiao Zhan said happily.
As he finished speaking, a powerful aura swept over them.
“What’s this?” Xiao Zhan and the others were startled.
“Someone is advancing to Fighter—and a strong one at that,” Ling Ying frowned, surprised that such a skilled person existed in the supposedly declining Xiao family.
“It’s Yan’er! Yes, it must be Yan’er! This aura is unmistakable!” Xiao Zhan, recognizing the familiar energy, exclaimed with excitement and rushed off.
“Yan’er? Didn’t Uncle Xiao say he’s only eight? How could he be a Fighter already? Eight years old and a Fighter? I must see him!” Xun’er’s curiosity flared.
“Eight years old, a Fighter? That’s a genius! Even our Ancient Clan has none like him,” Old Ling was shocked.
Inside Xiao Yan’s room
“Heh-ha!”
“Condense, break!”
After enduring the torment of the flesh, Xiao Yan finally succeeded—he had condensed the Fighter’s Pill and ascended to the rank of Fighter.
“Ahaha! I’ve finally broken through! I’m a Fighter at last!” Xiao Yan shouted, clenching his fists in excitement.
“Not bad!” Qian Mo said, pleased.
“Hmm? Someone’s arrived outside. I’ll head in first,” Qian Mo glanced toward the door, sensing two unfamiliar presences not belonging to the Xiao family.
“Oh? Then I should go out and take a look,” Xiao Yan said, curiosity piqued.
He walked over and opened the door, just as someone rushed toward him, followed by two others.
“Yan’er, you—you succeeded in condensing the Fighter’s Pill and breaking through to Fighter?” Xiao Zhan exclaimed, gripping Xiao Yan’s shoulder, probing for answers.
“Yes, Father. I have successfully broken through!” Xiao Yan said, patting his chest.
At that moment, Xiao Xun’er and the others arrived.
