Chapter 63: The Wolf Leader!

"You! What did you just say? Say it again!" Wolfhead, thinking he was about to hear some vital news, was stunned when he heard the man say his son had died; his face turned ashen, and he roared in disbelief and fury.
With one motion, he shattered the arm of his chair.
A powerful aura of a great Dou Fighter radiated from Wolfhead, and it was the wrathful aura of such a warrior. The sheer intensity of it sent a violent shudder through both the woman and the man in the room.
The man’s forehead and back were already slick with cold sweat.
“C-captain...?” the man stammered in terror.
“Speak. Who had the nerve to kill my son? I won’t kill you—disaster shall not befall the innocent. You found out and told me, so I won’t harm you. Say it! Who was it?” Wolfhead, though consumed by rage, was not blinded by hatred. He knew these people might still be of use to him later; sparing them was the right choice.
He clenched his fist, and orange Dou Qi seeped out, thick with murderous intent.
Such a killing aura could only be formed by someone stained with much blood. Judging by the intensity of the aura swirling around Wolfhead’s fist, it was clear his hands were more than just a little dirty.
The man, hearing this, finally let out a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his brow. He reported to Wolfhead, “I stumbled upon Young Master Mu’s death while out hunting. I overheard some people coming from the Myriad Medicines Stronghold talking about how Wolf Three was beaten to death by a young man in white robes. And the squad he brought—all dead, not one survived…”
The man nervously glanced at Wolfhead’s face. He saw Wolfhead’s face turn blue, his forehead darken, veins bulging, and the murderous aura thickening around him. It was clear just how furious Wolfhead was.
“Myriad Medicines Stronghold? Little Medical Fairy? Isn’t that the girl my son fancied? And a young man in white robes? They all deserve to die!”
Boom—
He unleashed a burst of Dou Qi, shattering the chair entirely.
“Ah—!” The woman sitting on the chair toppled to the ground, crying out.
“I was still on it! Are you blind?” she protested, having landed awkwardly.
Already enraged, Wolfhead’s fury doubled at her outburst.
“Shout, will you? I’ll give you something to scream about. Get out! I’m tired of you anyway, I’ll just find someone else—go die!” Wolfhead stormed over, yanked her up, and barked furiously.
“No, please! I was wrong, I’ll never do it again—”
“Ah! You brute, you beast, you’re worse than a pig or a dog! No wonder your son died—serves you right! You’ll be next!” the woman, desperate and seeing her pleas useless, started cursing Wolfhead in a frenzy.
They say a madwoman is the most terrifying of all, and this was a prime example. If she’d had the power to resist, Wolfhead might have been the one to die instead.
“Hmph, ugly wench, cursing me? I don’t know if I’ll die soon, but you’re going to die before me!”
Bang!
With those words, Wolfhead placed his hand on the woman’s head and gave a slight squeeze—her skull exploded instantly.
Her eyes stared wide open at Wolfhead in horror, and with her last breath, she gasped out, “No… don’t…!”
But fate was not in her hands, and so her life ended in a pool of blood.
Just moments ago there had been laughter and jesting on the bed; who could have imagined the next would be blood and death? A tragedy indeed.
The man watched as the woman who’d spoken up for him was crushed into a puddle of blood by Wolfhead. He shivered, icy fear gripping him, not daring to utter a word lest he be next.
“You, gather the men. I’ll lead them myself. I’ll slaughter the Myriad Medicines Stronghold and avenge my son!” Wolfhead’s eyes gleamed blood-red, his tone chilling.
“Yes, Captain! I’ll go at once!” The man rushed out as soon as he finished.
“Dare to kill my son? Then I’ll wipe your stronghold off the face of the earth!” Wolfhead snarled after him.
Outside, just as the man stepped out, he saw a flash of white ahead.
“What’s that?” he wondered aloud, reaching toward it.
The moment his hand made contact, his body vanished on the spot—
He didn’t even know what happened to him.
He disappeared without a trace, soundless and unseen, as if he’d never existed in this world at all.
“Huh? What was that? Something’s missing around here… Must have been some nosy fellow who touched something they shouldn’t. Oops! Swept into a spatial storm—dead for sure! Maybe in the next life, don’t be so curious!” Qian Mo glanced around with interest, but found the place deserted.
“So this is the Wolfhead Mercenary Corps? Looks like some bandit’s den. No class at all! No wonder you’re cannon fodder, never meant to last more than a few episodes.”
“That rundown shack over there must be the big boss’s quarters. Let’s have a look.” Qian Mo muttered to himself as he walked forward.
The house was actually quite decent… but to Qian Mo, it was just a pile of junk.
Inside the main hall, Wolfhead glanced regretfully at the pool of blood on the floor after the man left. “What a pity. Such a beautiful woman, and I hadn’t had enough fun yet. Why did I have to act all tough and say I was bored of her?”
“She really shouldn’t have cursed me just now. If not, she wouldn’t be dead. Oh well, it’s too late now—better deal with the Myriad Medicines Stronghold soon. I hear that little Medical Fairy is quite the beauty. Tsk tsk, I’ll have to try her out myself.”
The more Wolfhead spoke, the more wicked his grin became, a line of drool trailing from his lips as he licked his mouth, laughing lecherously.
...
“Hey! Big oaf, where’s the boss of the Wolfhead Mercenary Corps?” Qian Mo entered, took a glance around, and addressed the grinning giant.
“Big oaf?!” Wolfhead’s laughter stopped abruptly. He pointed at himself, his voice stuttering.
“Who are you calling a big oaf? I’m the boss here—Wolfhead! Now, who are you?” Wolfhead bellowed, pointing at Qian Mo. To call him such a name—death would be too kind.
“What? So you… you’re the legendary Wolfhead?” Qian Mo feigned shock, pointing at him.
“Oh? So my name is that famous already?” Wolfhead thought to himself as he licked his lips.
“That’s right! I am the legendary Wolfhead. Afraid now? Kneel! Since you’re so young, if you kneel and apologize, I might be merciful enough to let you join my ranks…” Wolfhead laughed haughtily, hands on his hips, oblivious to the irony in his words.
“Seriously? Is everyone in the Wolfhead Mercenary Corps like this?” Qian Mo wondered to himself.
Then he said aloud, “Sigh, give you a taste of sweetness and you really think you’re something special… No wonder you’re just cannon fodder…”
He waved dismissively.
“Haha! Kneel! …Wait, what did you just say?” Wolfhead’s foolish grin froze, and he immediately frowned.
His eyes swept over Qian Mo, thinking, “White robes, so young…”
He recalled what his subordinate had just reported: “The young man who killed Young Master Mu wore white robes, very young…”
“Could it be…?” Wolfhead muttered to himself.
“Hey, Wolfhead, what are you mumbling about? What’s so coincidental?” Qian Mo grinned, lifting his head.
“Hey, boy! I’m going to ask you a question, and you’d better answer honestly. Or you won’t leave here alive,” Wolfhead said, unleashing the aura of a great Dou Fighter.
“Oh my! What’s this? I’m so scared—please don’t frighten me! What do you want to ask?” Qian Mo feigned terror, then coyly asked.
“I’ll ask you: Are you the one who killed Mu Lang at the Myriad Medicines Stronghold?” Wolfhead demanded.
“Ha! So that's what you want to know? That idiot? Turns out his surname is Mu! He mouthed off to me with that sleazy face, so I killed him. What, are you his father? Here to avenge him? Tsk, you look just as sleazy as him—you must be his father!” Qian Mo replied, his words relentlessly provoking Wolfhead.
Tsk tsk tsk…
