Chapter 032: I Made an Appointment with Your Fourth Uncle
The next day, Bai Yinyin didn’t wait for Bai Chuwei at all. She took a private car straight to school and headed into the cafeteria.
Henghua First High School was considered an elite institution, almost aristocratic. The cafeteria served food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and every dish was remarkably sumptuous.
Bai Yinyin sat at a table eating her breakfast. Before long, a few girls carrying their trays sat down across from her, each wearing an expression of surprise.
“Yinyin? It really is you? Don’t you usually skip breakfast at school?”
Nibbling on a steamed bun, Bai Yinyin looked distressed. “I haven’t eaten since last night. There’s a foster daughter at my house now, and Grandpa keeps punishing me because of her.”
A foster daughter?
“Do you mean Bai Chuwei from our class? Oh my, isn’t she a bit too much? A foster daughter dares to bully you, the legitimate heiress?” her friend Deng Man immediately thought of yesterday’s transfer student and mocked her.
Bai Yinyin nodded like a little chick pecking at grains, appearing fragile and pitiful. “Grandpa likes her. What can I do? Sigh.”
Yesterday, on her first day, Bai Chuwei had already become notorious at Henghua. She was accused of seducing Duan Xingye and Xu Xingchen, insulting Teacher Li by calling him crazy, and boasting that she had written those famous poems and the number one classical masterpiece.
The girls, in particular, couldn’t stand how close Bai Chuwei was with Duan Xingye!
She looked pure and angelic, but behind the scenes, she was nothing but a flirt chasing after men.
Deng Man and the other girls exchanged glances and immediately said, “Don’t worry, Yinyin. We’ll teach her a lesson for you!”
With reddened eyes, Bai Yinyin kept thanking them, and a subtle smile curved at the corner of her mouth.

Without Bai Yinyin accompanying her, Bai Chuwei had a pleasant walk to school. Upon entering the classroom, she was immediately greeted by Duan Xingye, bounding over like an eager golden retriever.
“Chuwei, you’re amazing! My grandpa was so much better yesterday, and you even figured out Teacher Zhou’s illness. You really are a miracle doctor!” Duan Xingye’s words were syrupy-sweet, showering her with compliments.
He gave her a hopeful look. “Chuwei, do you have the prescription ready today? Want me to go with you to buy the medicine?”
Without even glancing up, Bai Chuwei replied, “No need. I’ve already arranged to go with your fourth uncle.”
Duan Xingye was instantly stunned, his expression growing complicated.
His fourth uncle truly cared deeply for his father.
Just then, a gentle, warm voice cut in, “Bai Chuwei, I picked up your custom uniform for you.”
Looking up, she saw Xu Xingchen. He was holding a paper bag containing the uniform, his eyes crinkling with a smile, the kind that made him especially popular with the girls.
Duan Xingye immediately slung an arm around Xu Xingchen’s neck, laughing, “Good man, you’re so thoughtful, remembering that Chuwei still doesn’t have a uniform.”
Xu Xingchen smiled, then glanced at Bai Chuwei’s flawless, stunning face with a look full of hidden meaning.
Bai Chuwei took the uniform and headed toward the girls’ restroom, highly amused.
Duan Xingye was such an innocent fool, and Xu Xingchen, the male lead—he still had no idea what was going on in his own heart.
Still, “good man” wasn’t far off the mark.
Bai Chuwei entered a deserted restroom stall, hung the bag on the hook, and hadn’t even started changing when she suddenly heard footsteps outside—and then the sound of the restroom door being locked!
Her brows knitted. Staring at the door, she asked coldly, “What are you doing?”
Deng Man, arms crossed, led the group of girls in with a smirk. “Is someone talking? I don’t think so. Let’s go.”
