Chapter 10: Unexpectedly, There Is Still a Chance to Meet Again
The most important thing was his family's dog—it ate anything, meat or vegetables! Duan Xingye scrambled toward the kitchen in a panic, and soon a racket of clanging and banging erupted from within.
Duan Feihan gently ran his fingers over the phone screen, which was worth no more than a thousand yuan. He said, "Send me this photo. And start looking for her immediately."
The assistant nodded vigorously in response.
Duan Feihan quietly instructed the middle-aged woman, "Do not send this photo to anyone else, nor are you to reveal anything further about her."
His words were delivered in a calm, even tone, yet they carried a subtle but undeniable authority. The woman shrank back, nodding obediently.
Lowering his eyes to the photo, Duan Feihan gazed at the girl's gentle, smiling face. An unusual expression flickered across his features, and the corners of his lips lifted almost unconsciously.
He had not expected to have another chance to meet her.

After resting at the Bai family home for two days, Bai Chuwei was about to start her senior year at Henghua No. 1 High School, officially stepping into the plot's main storyline.
Because her school uniform had yet to be tailored, she could only wear her own clothes for now.
At dawn, the weather was glorious and the sunlight warm.
Bai Chuwei, dressed in her own clothes and carrying her backpack slung over one shoulder, came downstairs.
Seated at the dining table, Bai Yinyin stared at Bai Chuwei as if she had seen a ghost, nearly falling off her chair. "You... your clothes?"
Hadn't she cut up all of Bai Chuwei's clothes with scissors just the day before yesterday? How could she be wearing them again?
It was as if she had seen a ghost!
Bai Chuwei’s lips curved into a faint, meaningful smile. "What about my clothes?"
Bai Yinyin bit her lip hard, unable to meet Bai Chuwei's gaze. She quickly looked away. Surely... surely Bai Chuwei must have bought two sets of the exact same outfit!
Damn it! Grandpa and Dad were far too biased toward this so-called "adopted daughter"—who was, in reality, an illegitimate child!
Sitting at the head of the table, Bai Guofu exclaimed with praise, "Looks lovely, very lovely. Ancestor, come, have a seat."
Bai Chuwei walked over to stand behind Bai Yinyin, then bent slightly to whisper in her ear, "You'd better be careful, cutting up my clothes like that."
Bai Yinyin stiffened in fright, vaguely sensing her own uniform had been tugged, but when she looked up, Bai Chuwei was already sitting at the table as if nothing had happened.
Immediately, Bai Yinyin regained her arrogance.
So what if she knew she’d ruined her clothes? It’s not like Bai Chuwei could do anything about it!
These past few days, Bai Guofu had been staying at his second son's villa because of Bai Chuwei's arrival. He asked with concern, "Ancestor, are you sure you want to attend Henghua No. 1 High School for your senior year? There's barely three months left before the college entrance exams."
Bai Chuwei replied serenely, "It's all right."
She was only entering Henghua No. 1 High School so she could follow the storyline.
Bai Yinyin spread strawberry jam on her bread, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Henghua No. 1 High is very strict. You'd better not fall behind and get a low score—it would embarrass the Bai family."
Bai Guofu's face turned cold at once. Bai Yinyin hurriedly lowered her head, not daring to mock Bai Chuwei further for fear of being slapped by her grandfather again.
After a few bites of bread, Bai Chuwei found it dry and unappetizing, so she set it aside and gracefully dabbed her lips with a napkin.
Her movements were elegant, the kind of poise honed over five thousand years, and the surrounding household staff looked on in astonishment.
"Bai Yinyin, are you sure you gave me that phone? Everything in it belongs to me now?" Bai Chuwei suddenly asked.
Startled, Bai Yinyin quickly glanced at her grandfather at the head of the table, afraid Bai Chuwei would expose the fact that she’d given her a second-hand phone. She hastily replied, "Of course! Once I gave it to you, it's yours—it has nothing to do with me!"
Her eyes darted, and she immediately complained to Bai Guofu, "Grandpa, look at Chuwei—isn't she a bit too greedy? I gave her a 256GB phone worth ten thousand yuan, and she's still not satisfied!"
