Chapter 128: Can't Even Sweet-Talk Someone?
Duan Feihan was stunned for a moment, then suddenly understood. After all, Bai Chuwei had previously mentioned wanting to hit his third brother with a rock.
Bai Chuwei looked at him suspiciously. "Were you actually trying to coax me just now? You’re such a stereotypical guy—you don't even know how to comfort someone, do you?"
Duan Feihan arched his dark brows. His voice was low and slow, like a count in the dead of night. "Then tell me, how should I go about it?"
Bai Chuwei opened her mouth to retort, but the words died on her lips as a realization struck her. *Hah, is this future villain trying to play games with me?*
A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes, and she deliberately adopted a soft, childish, and milky tone: "If you want a hug, then I’ll let you have one." These were the very words a certain four-year-old future villain had once said to her.
Duan Feihan was momentarily dazed; the line felt hauntingly familiar.
His private driver pulled the car up, and Bai Chuwei walked toward the rear door with practiced ease.
"Bai Chuwei, wait—" Duan Xiuqi shook off Tong Yunrou’s hand and chased after her.
Without looking back, Bai Chuwei climbed into the car. She lazily pulled out her phone to call Qi Yue, saying indifferently without lifting her head, "Uncle Duan, I’m only relaying one message from my aunt: she wishes you a happy marriage."
Duan Xiuqi stiffened, staring blankly as his fourth brother’s car merged into the night.
*She wishes him... a happy marriage.*
He felt like a frost-bitten eggplant, his strength drained in an instant. His mind was filled with only one thought: "She is married."
Bai Chu was married; he no longer had any reason to keep waiting.

Qi Yue was beyond excited. Just ten minutes ago, her goddess had called her.
"How about helping me organize the appointment list for the school consultations? I’ll pay you."
Qi Yue was overflowing with enthusiasm. "Money? Goddess, how could I take your money? Isn't it just organizing a list? Leave it to me!"
The consultation fee at school remained at two thousand, but Qi Yue was tasked with vetting the students to ensure only those with good moral character were eligible. Bai Chuwei didn't care about the money; it was secondary. What mattered was character. She had no interest in treating students with poor conduct.
She wasn't naive; she knew some students engaged in verbal abuse, cold violence, and malicious pranks. She’d rather treat a piece of roast pork than people like that!
Duan Xingye and Su Ruan were busy preparing for the college entrance exams, and since Qi Yue was a first-year student and a bit of a gossip, she was the perfect fit. Besides, the Qi family had been serving her for generations.
Qi Yue didn't find it troublesome at all; she felt honored. When she got home and saw the lights on in Qi Mo's study, she assumed he was working, only to hear a voice drift from inside: "My dear darlings, remember to send me gifts."
He was watching another livestream.
Qi Yue’s mouth twitched. Her brother was perfect in every way, except for the fact that he had recently become obsessed with a female streamer, tipping her large sums of money as if he were bewitched. He used to be the type to spend his time reading books and newspapers!
Qi Yue couldn't concern herself with her brother’s antics. She excitedly returned to her room to organize the consultation list for the next day.
Since Bai Chuwei had caused quite a stir at the Duan family banquet, there were over a hundred requests for consultations! Qi Yue thoughtfully compiled the list and set the time and place for 1:00 PM during the lunch break, in the school garden pavilion.
Bai Chuwei only saw three people a day, and the first two had been oddballs who rushed to book slots despite having no medical issues.
After waiting for a while, just as Bai Chuwei was beginning to lose patience, a figure cautiously crept out from a corner of the garden. Looking left and right with a nervous expression, the boy stammered, "I... I’m here to see..."
Qi Yue took one look and felt extremely disappointed. "You don't seem to be nearsighted, either. You don't look sick at all!"
She added, feeling annoyed, "Can those of you who aren't actually sick stop joining in the fun? You’re delaying my goddess's rest!"
Bai Chuwei rested her chin on her hand, observing the boy before her with keen interest. Her red lips curled slightly. "No, he's just not tall enough."
