Chapter 126: Finally, Some Usable Gear!
After examining the Sword of Judgment, Chen Yun pulled out another piece of equipment: the Gun of Power. This weapon resembled a Desert Eagle, but it was nearly half again as large and weighed dozens of times more. Even using both hands, Chen Yun simply could not lift it.
With a heavy thud, the gun hit the floor, cracking the tiles.
"Good heavens, is this really a handgun?" Chen Yun gasped. With his current strength of 51 points, he could easily lift 250 pounds with one hand, or 550 pounds with both (as 1 point of strength allows for lifting 10 pounds). To be unable to lift a handgun meant it must weigh over 600 pounds. Was this even a pistol? Was he certain it wasn't a grenade launcher?
"Player Chen Yun lacks the required strength to equip the Gun of Power." As he pondered, the system prompt rang out. He was stunned. Not enough strength?
Chen Yun checked the requirements for the Gun of Power: 70 strength points.
"Holy cow, 70 strength? Man, I’m only at 51. Even if I poured all my free attribute points into strength, it wouldn’t be enough. Where am I supposed to find that much strength?" Chen Yun was speechless. It truly lived up to its name; the strength requirement was insane.
"If it were intelligence or spirit, I could grind stats at a bookstore, but where do I grind strength? The beef I ate at the Azure Hotel that boosted strength has already hit the cap; eating more is useless." Chen Yun muttered to himself, then had a sudden flash of inspiration: "The system only requires that the strength requirement be met; it doesn't specify that the strength must be permanent. If I can reach the threshold with temporary buffs, can I equip it? If so..."
Thinking of this, Chen Yun grew excited. He was effectively fighting naked, without even a weapon. The guns he had seized from the shop previously all had level requirements of at least 20, which he couldn't meet. Now that he finally had a weapon he might be able to use, he couldn't let a lack of strength stop him!
Chen Yun pulled the Secretly Prepared Cooked Beef he had bought earlier from his inventory and checked it. He beamed.
"Secretly Prepared Cooked Beef: Green-grade cooked food. After consumption: HP +120, Mana +100, Strength +20, Constitution +15 for 60 minutes."
With his 55 base strength, eating the beef would push him to 75, just enough to surpass the 70 required by the Gun of Power.
"Heavenly spirits, deities, Buddha, God, Virgin Mary—please, let me be able to equip this gun!" Chen Yun chanted, then reached for the weapon.
"Does player Chen Yun wish to bind the pink-grade weapon: Gun of Power?"
It could be equipped!
Perfect!
Chen Yun was overjoyed. "Bind!"
"Player Chen Yun has bound the Gun of Power. Player attributes have been recalculated. Please check your status."
Holding the Gun of Power, Chen Yun felt a surge of strength. He seemed to have endless energy flowing through him. He opened his attribute panel and couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

It was incredible. Looking at his stats, Chen Yun wanted to shout to the heavens, "I am no longer a weakling with a combat power of only 5!"
With 405 physical attack and 238 magical attack, combined with the various skills of the Gun God, even if an enemy had over 200 defense, Chen Yun was confident he could deal over 700 damage. In the power scaling of this world's cultivators, his current damage output was comparable to a Level 5 cultivator. Of course, that was only in terms of raw damage; his other stats were still far behind.
"Finally, a weapon! Grinding dungeon bosses is definitely the way to go. You can get gear you can actually wear, unlike other bosses where, despite the good loot, nothing is usable."
With a thought, Chen Yun stowed the Gun of Power into his combat equipment slot, ready to summon it at any time.
He checked the experience needed to reach Level 20 and frowned. He was still over 80,000 EXP short. That wouldn't be easy to grind.
He couldn't enter a dungeon for a while, nor were there bosses to fight. Getting 80,000 EXP in three days was going to be tough.
"I'll head to the fish market. The only leveling method available right now is killing monsters." Chen Yun shook his head and caught a taxi to the fish market.
Lanyun City was coastal, with hundreds of fish markets of all sizes. The one Chen Yun chose was the closest to his hotel and the most cost-effective.
The market was over 2,000 meters long, with a main path for customers and countless seafood stalls on either side. Chen Yun walked past them one by one. Most were selling small fish and shellfish, ranging from Level 5 to 15. Chen Yun curled his lip; killing these monsters wouldn't yield much experience.
By the time he reached the end, he found that the highest-level fish were only Level 24, and there were barely a dozen of them—hardly enough to whet his appetite.
Just as he was about to leave through the entrance, a commotion broke out. A large crowd had gathered. Curious, Chen Yun pushed through the throng and gasped.
Sunfish: Level ???, World-class Boss (Dying), HP 238/?, Attack: ?, Defense: ?...
"Good god, a sunfish this big? Must be several hundred kilograms, right?"
"Several hundred? You’re underestimating it. I’d bet it’s over a ton."
"Good eye, brother. My brother and I were fishing in the deep sea when we saw it floating on the surface. We dragged it back, and it weighed in at 1,057 kilograms!"
"The deep sea? You guys have guts. Weren't you afraid of a tsunami? Wait, you said it was floating? You got it for free?"
"Yeah, it was already dying when we found it. Otherwise, who would dare try to catch something this huge?"
"Well, you’ve struck gold. This is a rare find. For a size like that, how much are you going to sell it for?"
