“Could it be that he’s carrying a navigation system with him?” the section chief said. “Since he claims it’s a human-trafficking den, whether it’s true or not, we have to check it out. Have the technical department locate these coordinates and report back to me.”

The section chief had just turned to leave when he added, “Oh, and save this contact’s number. Have him assist us if necessary.”

“Um…” The policewoman froze, then said with an awkward smile, “Chief, I’m afraid that might be difficult.”

“Difficult?” The section chief turned around. “I only asked you to save a phone number. What could possibly be difficult about that?”

“Chief, you’d better see for yourself.” The policewoman pointed at the contact displayed on the phone screen.

The section chief glanced at it—and his jaw dropped.

Chen Yun and A-Qi walked along the road in silence.

Chen Yun had no idea how to explain what had just happened, while A-Qi did not dare say a word. In the past, Chen Yun had been a kind-hearted young man in her eyes. Now, she had added two more traits to his character: ruthless and cold-blooded.

“Um… A-Qi, I’m not usually like that. I was just enraged by what they said today. They actually wanted to sell you. I lost my head for a moment and… I’m really not that kind of person. You have to believe me.”

After walking for a long while, Chen Yun could no longer stand the awkward atmosphere and finally spoke.

“Mm… I know you did that for me. Thank you, Master.” A-Qi’s cheeks flushed. She lowered her head and spoke softly.

“Er…” Chen Yun suddenly realized that his words could easily be misunderstood. He felt miserable inside. Wonderful—he had only made things worse by trying to explain.

“Let’s not talk about that anymore. I’ll perform another magic trick for you!” Chen Yun said with a grin. “A-Qi, don’t blink!”

Having already witnessed Chen Yun’s earlier miraculous trick, A-Qi immediately widened her eyes and stared at the hand he slipped into his trouser pocket. Could he be about to conjure another phone?

While A-Qi’s attention was focused on his pocket, Chen Yun silently thought, “Take out the toy car.”

With a sudden flash, a brand-new, fully functional four-wheeled car appeared beside Chen Yun.

A-Qi’s mouth nearly fell open. Where had this car come from? Chen Yun’s hand was still in his pocket—he had not even moved it! And why did the car look so familiar?

Then she realized.

Wasn’t this the very toy car Chen Yun had been holding earlier?

Good heavens! This was incredible. The toy car had actually turned into a real car!

“Get in. It’s a pity I don’t have a pilot’s license, or I could conjure up an airplane for you.” Chen Yun gave A-Qi a playful wink.

“Wow! Chen Yun, are you a magician?” A-Qi finally came back to her senses and exclaimed excitedly, “First you conjured a phone, and now a car! You’re amazing! You actually turned a toy car into a real one!”

“…”

Chen Yun was baffled. Was a woman’s intuition really that accurate? Had she seen at a glance that the car had transformed from the toy?

“Heh-heh, I’m not telling you. If I told you, could it still be called magic? Come on!” Chen Yun gave an awkward laugh and opened the car door.

“Oh, that’s true. The whole point of magic is the mystery of not knowing.” A-Qi giggled as she sat in the passenger seat.

“By the way, A-Qi, you drive.” Just as Chen Yun was about to take the driver’s seat, he suddenly remembered that his level-four driving proficiency was still untrained. If he drove himself, the car might vanish within seconds.

“Why?” A-Qi asked in confusion.

“Well… I’m still taking driving lessons, so I can’t drive yet,” Chen Yun improvised.

“If you can’t drive, why did you conjure a car?” A-Qi pouted. “Fine, I’ll drive.”

When they reached the entrance to the Underwater World, A-Qi was just about to drive inside when Chen Yun’s expression changed and he hurriedly stopped her.

“What’s wrong?” A-Qi asked.

“A-Qi, I suddenly remembered that I get seasick underwater. Just looking at the seabed makes me violently nauseous… Why don’t you go in by yourself? I’ll wait outside,” Chen Yun said, inventing an excuse.

“Seasick underwater…” A-Qi was dumbfounded. She had heard of seasickness, airsickness, car sickness, motion sickness, and even a fear of blood—but this was the first time she had ever heard of someone being sickened by the seabed.

“Then I won’t go. What fun is it to look around alone? I’ll take you back instead.”

“All right.” Chen Yun let out a long sigh of relief. He had finally managed to get away with it.

The instant they had entered the Underwater World entrance, Chen Yun received a system notification.

“Player Chen Yun has discovered the solo dungeon ‘Underwater World.’ Would you like to enter the dungeon?”

A dungeon?

Chen Yun was stunned. He had never expected the Underwater World to be classified by the system as a dungeon—and a solo dungeon at that.

In games, a dungeon was a private underground realm where players and their friends could experience, explore, adventure, or complete quests. The monsters inside were far more powerful than those found outside, but the drop rates and chances of obtaining rare items were also much higher. Ultimately, a dungeon was a place where danger and opportunity coexisted.

Dungeons were divided into solo and group dungeons. The one Chen Yun had encountered was a solo dungeon.

If Chen Yun had come alone that day, he might have been willing to give it a try. But he had come with A-Qi. Knowing the system’s habits, he was certain that if he selected “Yes,” he would immediately be pulled into a special map. What would happen if A-Qi could not find him? How was he supposed to explain it? Should he tell her, “Wait here a moment. I’m going to run a dungeon”?

“No!”

Having thought it through, Chen Yun decisively canceled the prompt.

As they neared the hotel, they passed a shop specializing in computer accessories. A-Qi parked by the roadside and said, “Chen Yun, I’m going inside to buy a pair of headphones. Wait for me.”

“I’ll come with you. Sitting in the car is boring,” Chen Yun said.

He did not dare sit in the car alone. If he did, the system would immediately determine that he was training his driving proficiency, and the car would vanish the very next second.

The two entered the computer shop. A-Qi asked a clerk about the headphones’ model and price, while Chen Yun wandered around, looking this way and that out of boredom. By chance, he noticed a computer playing a cinematic from Resident Evil, and he was instantly astonished.

Did this world have Resident Evil too?

System, come out here and tell me—was this your doing?

“Player Chen Yun is level fifteen. Mental strength exceeds twenty. Conditions for entering the Resident Evil world have been met. The system has detected a Resident Evil dungeon. Would you like to enter?”

Oh, come on!

When he heard the system notification, Chen Yun was stunned. Since when had Resident Evil become a dungeon as well?

Damn. First he discovered the Underwater World dungeon, and now another Resident Evil dungeon had appeared. System, are you refusing to give up until I enter one?

“Do not enter.”

Chen Yun quickly canceled the prompt. He was outside, after all, and had no idea how the system intended to send him into the dungeon. If he suddenly vanished into thin air and A-Qi asked where he had gone, even a hundred explanations would not be enough.

It would be better to return to the hotel room and study the matter there.
