Chapter 47: The Electric Scooter That Went to the Restroom

“The principle of riding an electric scooter is basically the same as riding a bicycle, except you can save some effort with both feet. The main thing is, when starting off or going uphill against the wind, don’t accelerate too quickly, or you’ll burn out the traction motor. Also, if you see anything ahead, brake early—if you’re going too fast and too close, you won’t be able to stop in time. Anyway, to sum up: always stay alert, sound your horn as a warning, and remember—safety is always the number one priority…” the instructor rambled on with a jumble of advice.
“NPC Level 4 Driving Master Liu Lanshan wishes to teach player Chen Yun Level 2 Driving skill. Learn?”
“Yes!”
“The player must pay NPC Liu Lanshan a skill learning fee of 10 gold coins before acquiring Level 1 Driving skill.”
Chen Yun paused, startled. Good grief, he’d thought that one gold coin would be more than enough, but even everything he had fell short. Last time, it had only cost 100 copper coins to learn to ride a bicycle—now it had jumped straight to 10 gold, a thousandfold increase!
Chen Yun quickly pulled out nine more gold coins and stuffed them into the bewildered instructor’s hand. “Coach, I’ve learned it. Here, take this and buy yourself some popsicles.”
“Player Chen Yun has learned Level 2 Driving skill. Current proficiency: 0/300. Once proficiency is maxed and Level 10 is reached, Level 3 Driving skill becomes available.”
“Player Chen Yun has learned Level 2 Driving skill. From Level 2 and above, if mount durability training fails, the mount will not disappear. Convert Level 2 mount to electric scooter form?”
“Yes!”
The instructor stared blankly at the gold coins in his palm, picked one up and bit it—real gold!
Damn, money was too easy to make from this kid. He’d just mumbled a few random sentences and earned more than he usually did in three years! And this was just for electric scooters; there were still motorcycles and cars to come. How much could he make then? Swearing inwardly, the instructor resolved that as long as the kid kept coming to him, even if he wanted to learn to ride rugby balls, he’d teach him! After all, it was just theory—he could always make something up!
Thinking this, the instructor looked up, eyes suddenly wide, as he saw the foolish kid straddling an electric scooter, looking around left and right.
“What the hell? Where did that electric scooter come from?” the instructor shouted in shock.
“It transformed from my bicycle. Now do you believe I’m not lying?” Chen Yun said, brimming with pride. “Coach, I’ll come back to you next time when I learn to ride a motorcycle. Goodbye!”
Watching Chen Yun ride away, the instructor muttered to himself, “A bicycle really can turn into an electric scooter… Which company came up with this kind of black technology?”
Riding with the wind in his face, Chen Yun was in an uncommonly good mood. Bitterness had finally given way to sweetness—yesterday, the bike had ridden him for half the day, but today he was finally the one in control.
The Level 2 mount was extremely fast—Chen Yun guessed it was much faster than a motorcycle. Riding this electric scooter, which was not affected by driving skill proficiency and had infinite durability, Chen Yun reached the seaside from the city center in less than two hours.
Blue Rhythm City was a coastal city, one of the few in the Heavenly Dragon Empire with a long stretch of shoreline.
Arriving at the sea, Chen Yun’s vision suddenly broadened—this was his first time seeing the ocean in this world, and his spirits soared.
It was still summer vacation, the weather was hot, and tourists flocked to the beach.
“Miscalculation. There are too many people here—I can’t find a chance to put away my mount unnoticed.”

Chen Yun waited for ages but never found a moment when no one was watching. Gritting his teeth, he simply pushed the electric scooter into the restroom!
The seaside restrooms were public and free, with no one checking, so Chen Yun easily wheeled the scooter inside.
But even inside, there were people!
Chen Yun’s brows furrowed into a shape of utter frustration. He’d come here precisely because he couldn’t put away his mount with people watching outside, and now there were people inside too. Could his luck get any worse?
Just as he was stewing, he noticed a stall door standing open, and his eyes lit up.
The tourists relieving themselves at the urinals heard a commotion and turned around, dumbfounded.
They saw a young man pushing an electric scooter upright at a ninety-degree angle straight into a stall meant for doing one’s business!
What the hell?!
Everyone was stunned. In all their years, no one had seen someone push an electric scooter in there. What on earth was he up to? Was his electric scooter going to relieve itself too?
They looked at each other in confusion.
“Retrieve electric scooter to mount space.” With such a large scooter squeezed into the tiny stall, there was barely any room left—Chen Yun was almost crushed. He struggled to close the door behind him and silently recited the command to return the scooter to his mount space.
“Damn it, when will the system get rid of this stupid rule?”
Frustrated, Chen Yun opened the door and walked out, seeing that none of the previously urinating tourists had left—they all stared at him in blank astonishment.
“What are you looking at? Never seen someone take a dump before?” Chen Yun snapped, annoyed, and walked out of the restroom.
“We’ve seen people take a dump, but never seen anyone bring an electric scooter in to do it…” one of the tourists mumbled, then suddenly realized something.
Wait a second! That guy left by himself—without the scooter!
With this thought, the tourist rushed over to the stall, followed by others with the same idea.
Opening the slightly ajar door, several pairs of eyes nearly popped out of their sockets!
Inside, the stall was empty except for a toilet and a wastebasket stuffed with used paper.

Where was it?
Where was the electric scooter?
Damn, where had such a big scooter gone? They hadn’t seen the young man push it out. Or had their eyes played tricks on them?
Reluctant to give up, a few of them searched every stall, but after confirming they were all empty, they were left dumbfounded.
Had they seen a ghost? Or maybe it had just been a fake electric scooter?
Back at the beach, Chen Yun’s mood improved considerably. Spotting some yachts for rent, he ran over eagerly.
Chen Yun wanted to swim, but knowing the system’s quirks, he was sure it would say, “Player Chen Yun has not mastered the swimming skill. This action is invalid.”
“Strange, why is the yacht only a Level 2 mount?” Chen Yun muttered as he looked at the writing on the yacht. But it was perfect—he could ride it.
“Boss, what’s the price?” Chen Yun asked, eyeing the luxurious yacht.
“Five hundred copper coins per hour,” the yacht owner replied.
Five hundred copper coins! Chen Yun was inwardly astonished—no wonder this was a game for the wealthy. And this was just the rental fee; to buy one must cost tens of thousands.
“Alright, I’ll rent it for an hour.” Chen Yun, not short on money, quickly paid and boarded.
Once on board, Chen Yun confidently pressed the yacht’s power switch. The indicator on the dashboard blinked and then went dark.
“Player Chen Yun does not have permission from the Level 2 mount yacht owner to operate this mount.”
Chen Yun was taken aback. What? No permission? That couldn’t be right—he’d paid, so why didn’t he have permission?
“Hey! Don’t mess with that!” the yacht owner shouted, alarmed at seeing the young man press the start button as soon as he boarded. This yacht had cost him over four hundred thousand—if the kid broke it, that would be a disaster. He hurried over. “Just sit and watch, I’ll drive.”
Chen Yun frowned in confusion. “You’ll drive? Then what am I renting it for?”
