Chapter 102: Do Not Disturb My Rest
"Scoundrel!"
Watching the building severed and crashing down, Lin Qiu's face grew dark and grim.
He soared into the sky, his entire being transforming into a vast ocean of emptiness.
A sharp "Yah!" echoed, and within the flowing river of void, a small dolphin, barely a meter long, darted swiftly through the currents.
This cry, infused with a powerful shockwave, caused the black monkey's body to tremble several times.
"What is this?!"
Bai Jingjing's eyes suddenly widened.
That cry meant little to others, but to her, her blood and vital energy began to pulse, a joyful emotion rising from within.
"Lin Qiu, so it really is you!"
Bai Jingjing gritted her teeth.
To affect her blood and energy so dramatically with a single call—if it wasn't this man's doing, she wouldn't believe it even if she were beaten to death.
What drove her madder was that this fellow pretended ignorance while fully aware, making her waste an entire afternoon in vain.
"Damn it!"
Bai Jingjing's expression darkened completely, staring at the little dolphin in the river of void with even more fury.
Lin Qiu was unaware he'd already caught Bai Jingjing's attention; at this moment, he entertained no other thoughts.
He was determined to catch the falling building. If it crashed down, countless lives would be lost.
Another "Yah!" resounded, and Lin Qiu's entire form turned to flowing water.
Before the eyes of all below, his body became liquid, leaving only the shadow of a small dolphin in the stream.
The river of void spun, wrapping around the broken building and soaring skyward.
The river rotated, and the enveloped skyscraper slowly descended, seamlessly reconnecting with the fractured base below.
With a splash, the river vanished and Lin Qiu's figure reappeared.
He stood there in midair, gazing at the massive black monkey.
The monkey noticed Lin Qiu, baring its fangs in a savage grin, laughing with cruel delight.
"A sixth-tier demon!"
Lin Qiu frowned deeply at the black-furred monkey.
This creature radiated demon aura, born from mutated beings after the great prehistoric change, distinct from the ancient demon race.
The ancient demons gained intelligence first, evolving to harness the powers of nature and heaven.
Modern evolved beasts, though capable of cultivating to certain realms and shifting into human form, cannot command the forces of nature.
They possess only one prominent trait of the ancient demons: an extremely powerful physical body.
At the same tier, evolved beasts cannot match ancient demon race.
Moreover, evolved beasts lack demon aura, possessing only surging blood energy.
The black monkey before him carried a blood-shrouded aura, also called demon aura.
That was the clearest distinction.
With just a glance, one could tell its origin.
Lin Qiu looked down at Bai Jingjing below and coldly snapped, "This big brute is your doing—aren't you going to deal with it?"
Bai Jingjing surveyed the chaos, feeling some guilt, but Lin Qiu's words irked her.
"You say I brought it here, so it must be my fault? I say it's here for you!"
She rolled her eyes at him, stifling a yawn. "I have a concert tomorrow. Settle this quickly and don't disturb my rest."
With that, Bai Jingjing turned and strode inside.
"This woman..."
Thunder Dragon scowled, his fingernails lengthening.
As he rubbed his fingers together, arcs of black lightning danced across his nails.
"Why are you all standing around? Get your gear and fry this black monkey for me!"
Lin Qiu's voice thundered down from above.
The group at the entrance exchanged awkward glances, unclipping multifunctional rods from their belts.
With a flick, the rods transformed into electric batons.
"This creature's a sixth-tier expert—we can't match its speed or strength."
"Can a baton with a hundred thousand volts even reach it?"
Black Marsh, now in human form, eyed the beast above, smacking his lips as he spoke.
"Is this really the time for idle chatter?"
Xu Bing shot him a glare.
While they spoke, Lin Qiu was slapped to the ground by the black monkey's massive paw.
Dust billowed as the monkey's pillar-like foot stomped fiercely on the earth.
"Let's do this!"
Black Marsh gritted his teeth, transforming into starlight and merging into the body of the Young Maiden.
Starlight faded, and a woman appeared, holding an oil-paper umbrella and dressed in a cheongsam.
In her right hand, she gripped an electric baton crackling with sparks.
The Young Maiden's eyes flashed with ferocity, gone was her usual gentle demeanor.
She spun her umbrella and launched herself skyward, baton pointed at the black monkey.
"Roar!"
The black monkey let out a furious howl, its pillar-like finger appearing as if from nowhere, striking the Young Maiden's umbrella in a flash.
"Bang!"
The Young Maiden, as if struck by lightning, crashed to the ground even faster than she had ascended.
"Far too strong!"
She spat blood, her face pale as wax.
Even armored, she was only a fourth-tier expert—against the sixth tier, there was no comparison.
The boundary between fifth and sixth tier was a watershed; numbers alone cannot shift quality.
Merged with Black Marsh, her strength reached only the peak of the fourth tier, able to contend with the fifth, but against the sixth, she was cannon fodder.
As she coughed blood, her baton struck the ground and she soared again.
A cold gleam sliced through the void—a halberd shot like a shooting star, slashing toward the black monkey.
"Heh heh!"
The black monkey scoffed at the incoming halberd, flicking its finger. Its black claw crashed into the weapon.
A powerful force burst forth with a crack and a shower of sparks, but in the next instant, the monkey's body stiffened.
Xu Bing spat blood, face twisted with determination.
Her left hand opened the baton, connecting it to the halberd.
Electricity conducted through the metal; the monkey failed to notice, falling right into the trap.
Its body stiffened, unable to move no matter how it struggled, the numbness from the current rendering it immobile.
It couldn't even scream.
"Well done!"
Thunder Dragon's eyes lit up, letting out a roar as his fangs extended.
Gripping his electric baton, he too launched into the sky.
"Die!"
Thunder Dragon moved like a specter in darkness, swift as lightning.
In midair, a few flashes brought him beside the black monkey; his baton crackled as he drove it into the beast's spine.
"Roar!"
The black monkey bellowed silently, its veins bulging across its body.
"So strong!"
