The train traveled along the elevated tracks.

Five minutes later, it began its descent.

Xu Han finally saw the entirety of the Southern Capital Station. It was at least ten times larger than any station they had passed so far—dozens of aerial tracks converged onto its sprawling platforms.

As their train arrived, several others were already docked nearby.

Xu Han stepped off directly, with the Shui sisters following, each towing a suitcase.

Confronted with a sea of signs, Xu Han felt a little dizzy. His sense of direction was poor; east, south, west, and north were all the same to him, and deciphering the signs was a challenge.

Shui Lingyao spoke up, “Xu Han, since you’re also heading to Dragon Country University, why don’t we share a cab?”

Xu Han was taken aback, then nodded. It was the fastest way.

Led by Shui Lingyao, they found the taxi stand, where nearly a hundred taxis waited in line. The three chose one at random and set off for the university.

It took nearly forty minutes to reach Dragon Country University from the Southern Station.

Soon, they arrived at the university’s entrance. The main gate stretched over a hundred meters, and inside, the roads were so wide that even a dozen cars could drive side by side without difficulty. Neatly planted trees lined both sides of the road.

Looking inward, Xu Han saw several skyscrapers, each nearly a hundred stories tall, standing at the heart of the university. Around them were some older, more traditional academic buildings, shaded by trees that softened their sternness and lent the campus a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere.

A huge banner hung at the gate: WELCOME NEW STUDENTS.

To the left, Xu Han noticed rows of canopies set up for shade, beneath which volunteers in red vests had gathered. Signs in front of them read: NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION.

This was very much like the university registrations he remembered from his previous life.

Xu Han and the Shui sisters walked straight to the registration area. A girl with a ponytail saw them approach and immediately stood, greeting them with a cheerful smile. “Welcome. Are you here to register?”

The three nodded.

She continued, “Please fill out this form with your personal information, and I’ll check it for you.”

Someone beside her handed out three forms. Xu Han glanced at his—just basic details—then picked up a pen and began to write.

Shui Lingyao finished first, handed back her form, and the girl glanced at it, nodding as she handed over a green card. “Shui Lingyao, your dormitory will be in the D-level student residence. You can complete the rest of the check-in at your dorm building.”

“Thank you, Senior,” Shui Lingyao replied.

The girl smiled sweetly. “You’re welcome.”

Xu Han asked curiously, “There are different dormitory levels?”

The girl nodded. “Yes. D-level is a standard four-person room with bunk beds and desks below, about twenty square meters, no private bathroom. C-level is a double, same size but with a private bathroom. B-level starts at single rooms—small suites of fifty square meters, but much more comfortable. Many juniors and seniors stay in B-level. The amenities are far better than D-level.”

Xu Han pressed on, “What about A-level dorms?”

Someone nearby chuckled. “A-level dorms are two-story villas! And they’re right by Soaring Dragon Lake, with a far better environment than the other dorms. Only the professors have better—those are extravagant manors, and only faculty can live there.”

Yearning glimmered in the eyes of both Shui Lingyao and Shui Xuelan. Who wouldn’t want a lakeside villa?

The volunteer continued, still smiling, “But don’t get your hopes up. A-level dorms aren’t something just anyone can get. Only those who qualify as A-level students can live there.”

Shui Lingyao asked, “How do you raise your student rating?”

“It’s simple,” the girl replied. “Make an outstanding contribution to the university. For example, if you hand in the carcass of a level-seven or higher beast leader to the Beast Research Institute, you’ll be directly promoted to A-level. Or, if your personal strength reaches the fifth rank, you’ll also be rated A-level.”

Shui Lingyao and Shui Xuelan exchanged a despairing look.

Reach the fifth rank in four years? Or present the body of a level-seven beast leader? These were devilish requirements! What kind of monster could meet such standards?

The ponytailed girl giggled. “Don’t lose heart. A-level dorms are just a dream for most. But B-level is within reach—many juniors and seniors live there.”

The sisters nodded in agreement.

Xu Han handed his form to the girl, who glanced at it, searched his name on her phone, and suddenly her eyes widened.

“You… you’re Xu Han?!”

He nodded.

A crowd quickly gathered, staring at Xu Han as if he were an alien.

“So this is the national top scorer? Aside from being handsome, he doesn’t seem that special…”

“Could it be someone with the same name?”

“No way. I checked several times—there’s only one Xu Han!”

Hearing the seniors’ whispers, Shui Lingyao grew puzzled and asked, “Senior, is there something special about Xu Han?”

The girl with the ponytail smiled wryly. “No, we’re just really surprised. Xu Han, congratulations, you’ve been assigned to an A-level dorm. Here’s your dorm card.”

She handed him a purple card.

Shui Lingyao’s eyes widened in shock, and Shui Xuelan was equally incredulous.

An A-level dormitory?! They’d just been told how almost no one ever lived there, and now Xu Han was assigned to one right out of the gate.

Xu Han took the card and nodded slightly. “Thank you.”

The senior looked at him with envy. “In previous years, even the national top scorers only got C-level dorms. I never thought someone would enter as an A-level student. The difference between people is truly staggering—greater than the gap between a person and an Ironback Boar!”

“D-level dorms are to the left; A-level dorms are to the right. Oh, and A-level residents can bring family members. Would you like your girlfriend to live with you?”

Shui Lingyao’s cheeks flushed red. “No thank you, senior. We’ll be going now.”

With that, she grabbed Shui Xuelan and hurried away toward the dormitories.
