Chapter 110: Overtures from All Sides

Hua Piaowu stuck out her tongue but said nothing.
Xu Han was somewhat surprised.
There were still three hundred credits left.
Truly an unexpected windfall.
Xia Tianlong frowned and said, “Those beasts from the Abyss Church have actually mastered the method to create void rifts.”
“We must conduct a thorough investigation immediately!”
The others nodded in agreement.
If the Abyss Church were to recklessly open void rifts and summon void demons, it would cause a tremendous impact on the human world.
Chen Ping came up to Xu Han with a smiling face and took out a bronze token.
The token was embossed with a long sword and a staff crossed together.
This was the emblem of the Professional Guild.
“Xu Han, this is the Professional Guild’s bronze token. With this token, you can enjoy many privileges within the guild.”
“When you graduate, you might also consider developing your career with us. I guarantee that within ten years, you can rise to the position of vice president.”
“If you perform even better, the presidency might be yours.”
Hua Piaowu and Qin Xuanyi beside him widened their eyes in astonishment.
This was the Professional Guild’s bronze token!
Normally, anyone who joined the guild had no rank.
Only after completing numerous tasks and contributing significantly to the guild could one hope to obtain the Black Iron token.
Yet Chen Ping, just to recruit Xu Han, directly produced the bronze token!
This was truly a sign of respect to Xu Han!
Hua Piaowu clenched her delicate fists, looking defiantly at Xu Han.
Hmph! It’s just a bronze token!
I’ll have one of my own in the future!
Zhong Zhen’s face darkened.
Chen Ping even dared to poach right in front of him!
This was utterly disrespectful.
Before he could speak, Xia Tianlong also pulled out a bronze token and handed it to Xu Han.
This token bore the carving of a roaring fierce tiger.
Xu Han recognized the emblem.
It was the symbol of the Capital Guard.
Xia Tianlong said cheerfully, “This is the captain’s token.”
“You earned the merit of blocking the void demon. Even if you were promoted to battalion commander, no one would object.”
“But since you’re still a student, we’ll grant you the captain’s position for now.”
“With this token, you can command any squad and receive assistance within the rules.”
“After you graduate, if you want to join the Guard, you can be directly promoted to battalion commander.”
“If your performance is outstanding, you might even be promoted to the guardian of a city wall.”

“Or even become the deputy commander of the Guard.”
Hua Piaowu and Qin Xuanyi gaped in astonishment.
The position of Guard captain carried much more weight than the Professional Guild’s bronze token!
Anyone could join the guild.
If they worked hard enough, they could eventually earn a bronze token.
But the Guard was different.
Without sufficient merits, no matter how hard one tried, they could never reach the captain level in a lifetime.
To earn merit, one had to walk the edge of life and death.
In the Guard or the military headquarters, promotions were only for those who had struggled back from the brink of death.
Still, it was hard not to feel envy.
To have the strength of a Tier One professional to block a void demon—that was likely unique in the entire world, reserved only for Xu Han.
Zhong Zhen looked speechless. “I say, you two have had enough.”
“Xu Han is only a freshman, and you’re already thinking of poaching him? What if he stays at school?”
Chen Ping smiled gently. “Dean Zhong, I’m merely giving Xu Han another option.”
Xia Tianlong nodded. “Yes, a real man should join the military and serve his country!”
“Xu Han has the ability, so those of us older peers naturally want to nurture him.”
Hua Buyu, who had been silent beside them, suddenly spoke up, “That’s right.”
“Xu Han, if you’re interested in the intelligence department in the future, you can also join them.”
“The intelligence department is a special national unit; its treatment and benefits are no worse than the military.”
“You can think it over. Here is my contact information.”
She then took out an exquisite business card and handed it to Xu Han.
Qin Xuanyi looked bewildered, unsure of the prestige of the intelligence department.
But Hua Piaowu was utterly stunned, staring at her own mother.
Her mother was actively extending an olive branch to a freshman?
To be clear,
Even outstanding fourth-tier graduates from Longguo University were flatly rejected by her mother when they wanted to join the intelligence department.
The reason was simple:
They weren’t good enough.
Such outstanding graduates, if placed in a small city, could easily join the city lord’s mansion and become high-ranking officials.
Yet in her mother’s eyes, they were still not good enough to qualify for the intelligence department.
But Xu Han, merely a freshman and a Tier One professional,
Could actually make her mother take the initiative to recruit him.
The difference was astonishing.
It was clear that her mother believed Xu Han had sufficient potential.
Zhong Zhen and the others were also stunned, staring blankly at Hua Buyu.
Xu Han took the card with both hands and nodded, “I’ll seriously consider it.”

Hua Buyu nodded in return without further comment.
“All right, let’s head back. The city guard will take control of this area.”
“If any Abyss Church members dare to linger here, they won’t be able to escape.”
Xia Tianlong said.
Everyone else nodded.
Then they all soared into the air and left together, leaving only Xu Han and the two girls behind.
Xu Han was speechless.
These big shots left so quickly without even taking them along.
He stepped forward and cut off the head of the void giant bear, placing it into his spatial ring.
The mission was complete; all that remained was to return and submit it.
They mounted on Little Tiger’s back and dashed towards Snowfield Village.
After over an hour, Xu Han finally saw the outline of Snowfield Village in the distance.
“Finally, we’re almost there.”
His mood relaxed.
Suddenly,
A sharp whooshing sound came from ahead.
Xu Han focused and saw several sharp arrows hurtling toward the three of them.
Before Xu Han could react,
Little Tiger’s paw struck out,
Effortlessly swatting all the arrows to the ground.
Little Tiger then stopped and looked forward, letting out a low warning growl.
Xu Han stood atop Little Tiger’s back and said grimly, “Who’s there? Dare to ambush but lack the courage to show your face?”
Several dozen figures climbed up from the snow and blocked their way.
Leading them was a burly man wearing a white bear fur coat.
Beside him stood Liu Bing—the third brother who had escaped that day.
“You brat, you dare lay hands on our Snow Bear Hunters? You’ve got some nerve!” Li Xiong stared coldly at Xu Han.
“Here are your two options. Either leave the two women and all your valuables here, kneel down and kowtow ten times, and I’ll let you go.”
“Or the second option is to die here, and we’ll take the two women and everything valuable you have!”
“What’s your choice?”
Xu Han crossed his arms and looked down on them, “I choose the third option: to wipe you all out.”
