Chapter 55 Who Dares Harm My Child?
Lei Ming glanced over, a flicker of contempt in his eyes.
“You want to die? I’ll grant your wish!”
He raised his hand.
A dark purple sphere of lightning rapidly materialized.
Xiong Hui’s eyes widened in shock.
He whipped his head around to the members of the security team behind him. “Run!”
Boom!
The sphere of lightning shot forth, striking Xiong Hui squarely, exploding with a thunderous blast!
As the smoke and dust gradually cleared, a gaping crater was left in the hard metal floor.
Xiong Hui lay in the center of the pit, his body charred black and wreathed in wisps of white smoke.
Every member of the security team was aghast.
Even the strongest among them, the train captain, had been defeated by this man in the black robe in just two moves!
If they tried to intervene, wouldn’t they be throwing their lives away?
Lei Ming’s gaze swept coldly over the others, a chilling aura of murderous intent spreading.
“Today, all of you must die!”
He lifted his hand again.
Another sphere of crackling lightning appeared in his palm.
The group’s expressions changed dramatically; terror-stricken, they turned and bolted for the door.
“Trying to run?”
Lei Ming snorted coldly and flicked his wrist.
The lightning sphere shrieked through the air toward the fleeing guards.
Their eyes bulged with terror as the dazzling sphere of lightning was reflected in their pupils, growing rapidly larger!
Just as the sphere was about to engulf them—
A pitch-black vortex silently appeared before the group.
With a soft sound, the lightning sphere was devoured completely by the black vortex—without so much as a ripple.
Lei Ming was momentarily stunned.
What on earth was that?
As he hesitated, the dark vortex suddenly churned violently.
Bang!
The very lightning sphere it had swallowed shot back toward Lei Ming with even greater speed!
Lei Ming’s expression shifted. In a flash, he sidestepped, narrowly evading the attack.
Boom!
The sphere struck a massive boulder, detonating with a thunderous blast.
The boulder was instantly reduced to a shower of fragments.
The stunned guards collapsed to the ground, drenched in cold sweat.
A moment ago, it was as if Death itself had stood right behind them, the reaper’s scythe poised for the final swing.
Lei Ming’s face darkened as he turned to glare at Xu Han.
Xu Han slowly withdrew his hand, his expression emotionless as he met Lei Ming’s gaze.
“So, President Lei Ming—it’s you after all,” Xu Han said quietly.
No wonder the name had sounded so familiar.
The moment he saw the man’s face, he recognized him.
Lei Ming smiled coldly. “Xu Han, you broke my son’s leg and ruined so many of my plans!”
“Today, I’ll settle all scores at once!”
“Thunder Blade!”
With a casual flick, lightning stretched from his palm into a shining blade that slashed toward Xu Han.
Shadowstep!
Xu Han’s figure vanished abruptly.
He reappeared behind Lei Ming!
Exploding Fist!
With a mighty punch, he struck at Lei Ming.
But Lei Ming flickered, instantly appearing ten meters in front of Xu Han.
Xu Han’s fist met only empty air.
A cold smile played on Lei Ming’s lips; another sphere of lightning hovered in his palm. “Die!”
The lightning sphere shot at Xu Han.
Xu Han’s eyes narrowed.
A mysterious magical array appeared before him.
A thunderous roar split the air!
Little Cub’s massive form materialized before Xu Han.
With a low growl, the beast stomped the ground hard.
Earth Shatter!
The ground erupted violently, sending rock shards hurtling toward the sphere of lightning.
Boom!
The sphere exploded in a cascade of thunder and flying stone, raising a storm of dust and debris.
Lei Ming stared intently ahead.
In the next moment, two figures lunged at him from opposite sides—it was Xu Han and Little Cub!
“Wrathful Dragon Soars!”
Xu Han raised his dagger, which blazed with searing flames, transforming into an enraged fire dragon that roared toward Lei Ming.
Little Cub gave a fierce snarl as its claws glowed with brilliant earthen light, slashing at Lei Ming with lethal force.
Lei Ming sneered, “Naive!”
“You think you can hurt me?”
“Lightning Mirage!”
Bolts of lightning flashed across his body as he split into more than a dozen identical copies.
All the Lei Mings looked up in unison, cold smirks on their faces as they stared at Xu Han.
Boom!
The Dragon’s Fang pierced through Lei Ming’s body, stabbing into the floor—only for the clone to dissipate into nothing.
Little Cub’s claws struck another duplicate, which vanished as well.
Yet Lei Ming’s true self remained unscathed.
He chuckled coldly. “It’s useless. With your strength, you’ll never touch me!”
All the Lei Mings raised their hands, sending spheres of lightning shooting at Xu Han and Little Cub.
Faced with the barrage, Xu Han frowned.
Among all these spheres, only one was real.
In that case, he’d have to rely on the Eye of Insight!
A golden sheen covered his eyes.
Instantly, all the illusory lightning spheres vanished, leaving just one speeding toward Little Cub.
“Little Cub, watch out!” Xu Han called out urgently.
But it was too late.
The sphere struck Little Cub, hurling the beast against the wall with a heavy crash.
Its fur was scorched black, flesh split and torn, blood and tissue mangled and indistinct.
Xu Han’s expression changed as he rushed to Little Cub’s side.
He examined the wounds, then breathed a slight sigh of relief.
It was bad, but not fatal.
Lei Ming’s lips curled in an icy smile.
“Xu Han, stop struggling. Even together, you and your little tiger are no match for me!”
“Let me turn you both to ash with thunder!”
He raised his hand high.
“Heaven’s Thunderfall!”
Thunder rumbled across the sky.
Bolts of lightning danced amid the dark clouds.
The oppressive might bore down on Xu Han like a mighty mountain.
He looked up at the pitch-black sky, his clenched fists slowly relaxing.
And then he laughed.
“Hahahahaha…”
Lei Ming narrowed his eyes, staring at Xu Han.
“Driven mad by thunder, are you? How fragile your mind truly is. I once thought you a genius, but you’re just another mediocrity after all.”
“You can die now.”
Xu Han raised his head, a confident smile playing at his lips.
“Lei Ming, do you really think you can kill me?”
Lei Ming snorted disdainfully. “What, do you expect someone to rescue you?”
“Even if the nearest city, Eastport, sent reinforcements, they’d need hours to arrive.”
“Besides, the Eastport branch will send people to delay them.”
“As for Donghai City—are you expecting Li Zhentian and the others to save you? By the time they get here, you’ll be dust already.”
Xu Han sneered. “You seem to have overlooked something.”
“Guess how far we are from Woodland Town?”
Lei Ming was puzzled for a moment, then his expression shifted in shock as he looked at Little Cub on the ground.
Wait—
Could it be—
Xu Han chuckled coldly. “It seems you’ve guessed it.”
Lei Ming’s face grew grim. “Hmph, even if the Earthsplit Tiger King comes, it’ll take time.”
“More than enough for me to turn you both to ash—die!”
He swept his hand.
A monstrous bolt of lightning, like a crazed dragon, howled toward Xu Han!
A deafening roar shook the heavens.
“Who dares harm my child?!”
