Alright, alright, I'll be right there.
At nine o'clock in the evening, Shangguan Ranran arrived at the Federation headquarters accompanied by Ye Xin, Mo Jiu, Mo Shiyi, and a group of others.
The allied forces stationed to guard the Federation immediately stepped forward to intercept them with vigilant expressions.
"Do you have entry passes?"
"No."
"Then you cannot enter. Please turn back."
"Is that so? Ye Xin."
Accompanied by several bodyguards from the Dark Night organization, Ye Xin immediately launched an attack against them, her movements ruthless and decisive.
Mo Jiu also led his team of bodyguards into the fray. However, they aimed only to incapacitate rather than take lives.
Caught off guard by the sudden assault, the allied soldiers nearest to them were quickly brought down. Ye Xin and her team managed to temporarily pin down the score of allied guards at the entrance.
Seeing her chance, Shangguan Ranran broke into a run toward the interior, closely followed by Mo Shi and his men. She had purposely changed into flat shoes. Aside from a dagger she kept concealed, she carried a silenced paralyzing pistol given to her by Mo Shi.
She strictly followed the plan they had devised aboard the aircraft, running precisely along the route she had memorized.
Frowning deeply at the continuous influx of allied soldiers, Mo Shi kept his hands moving relentlessly, firing his silenced tranquilizer gun at the oncoming guards. He dared not use lethal ammunition; he could only shoot tranquilizer darts into the walls, otherwise, his master’s offenses would only be compounded. At least with this method, the aftermath could still be managed.
Noticing Mo Shiyi and the others engaged in battle with the allied forces, Shangguan Ranran slipped away to take another path. Before coming here, she had thoroughly committed the surrounding layout to memory.
She had to see Mr. Huangfu.
When Mo Shiyi finally managed to break free and turned back to look for Shangguan Ranran, the hallway was completely empty.
"Damn it!"
Mo Shi, who practically never swore, could not help cursing aloud. He shouted into his communicator, "Shangguan Ranran is missing! Everyone, search for her immediately!"
"If you can't find her, bring me your heads!"
"Especially along the route to the prison—eliminate all allied forces in that sector!"
As the skirmish here concluded, Mo Shi rushed swiftly toward the direction of the prison. While running, he drew out a specially crafted phone and dialed a number.
"Bring your men over immediately. We are at the Federation prison."
Upon receiving the call, General Ling'ao responded angrily, "Are you out of your mind? You're making a move at a time like this?"
General Ling'ao was one of the five commanding officers of the allied forces.
Furious, Mo Shi barked, "I don't have time to explain to you right now. Just bring your men here quickly!"
"My master is still in the prison. Do you want me to expose my identity right now?"
Mo Shi roared in exasperation, "Or would you rather see Miss Shangguan fall into danger?"
"What... what? Miss Shangguan? All right, all right, I'm on my way right now!"
The furious and arrogant demeanor Ling'ao had held a moment before was instantly extinguished by the mere mention of Miss Shangguan.
Who across the entire headquarters did not know by now that Shangguan Ranran was the apple of their master's eye? Even if the master himself were in danger, she could not be allowed to come to harm! Did Ling'ao have a death wish?
Leading a fifth of the allied forces, Ling'ao rushed rapidly toward the Federation prison. As he ran, he pulled out his phone to call the officer in charge of that sector, another allied commander.
"What are you talking about, Ling'ao? Are you joking? You want me to let intruders walk right past? Impossible!"
Pei Deng angrily hung up the phone. Looking at his brothers lying paralyzed on the ground, his fury reached a boiling point. "Damn it! Capture them all! If anyone dares to resist, execute them on the spot!"
"Understood!"
More and more allied soldiers began pouring in from all directions. The latest wave carried one-meter-long assault rifles with high firing rates and fierce firepower.
Lin Yan, Gong Yi, and Ouyang Mufeng arrived just a moment later with their own men. Upon hearing the intense gunfire, they knew things had gone wrong.
Lin Yan said, "You guys take the men and join the fight. I'll go look for our sister-in-law."
"Got it," Gong Yi replied.
Gong Yi and Ouyang Mufeng led all the bodyguards into the battle. Even Mo Er, Mo San, Mo Qi, and Mo Ba had rushed over. Like the others, their weapons were strictly tranquilizer guns—rules they all understood implicitly.
Lin Yan led his personal guards toward the prison to search for Shangguan Ranran. Even so, they suffered heavy casualties because the allied forces were using live ammunition.
The longer this dragged on, the more disadvantageous it became for them, as the effect of the tranquilizers lasted for only three hours.
Close to ten o'clock that night, Ye Hai—who had spoken with Ye Xin over the phone—arrived at the Federation headquarters accompanied by the butler and all the remaining Dark Night personnel. He sought out the director of the headquarters and demanded an immediate order to cease fire between the two sides.
After a swift assessment, the director made a prompt decision and immediately issued orders to the five allied commanders, bringing the nearly hour-long battle to a halt.
Accompanied by the headquarters director and thirty-five permanent council members, Ye Hai and his group then drove directly to the Federation prison.
To retrace Shangguan Ranran's journey: relying on her memorized route and dodging carefully under the cover of her bodyguards, she had safely reached the prison.
Because most of the allied forces had been drawn away elsewhere, the guards stationed around the prison were relatively sparse; most individuals inside were prison adjudicators or wardens. The building stood ten stories tall—five floors above ground and five below. Shangguan Ranran knew he was being held on the first underground level.
Her bodyguards had all fallen in battle, leaving only herself. Since Mo Shi had not yet arrived, she had to face this entirely alone.
Shangguan Ranran drew her pistol and stepped forward into the building. Maintaining a cold and composed expression on the outside, only she knew how panicked and terrified she truly felt. She had never fired a weapon at a person before; even though this was merely a tranquilizer gun, her palms were slick with cold sweat.
Whenever anyone emerged, Shangguan Ranran quickly pulled the trigger, giving them no opportunity to react. In this manner, she fought her way into the first-level prison area.
Prison cells lined both sides of the corridor, holding various inmates. Raising her gun, Shangguan Ranran had no idea which cell he was in and could only inspect them one by one.
"Oho, a beauty has arrived! Brothers, get up and feast your eyes!"
"Damn, this is the first time someone this gorgeous has ever shown up here."
"Hahaha, is she prettier than any woman you've ever had?"
"Of course she is! If I could sleep with a beauty like that, I'd die happy."
"Hey beauty, do you even know how to shoot that thing, or are you just holding a toy?"
"Hahaha, where did this beauty come from? Come chat with us for a bit!"
"Hey little lady, hahaha..."
Ignoring their jeering remarks, Shangguan Ranran spotted an empty cell, hurried over, and asked the inmate in the adjoining cell, "Where is the person who was kept here?"
A flicker of astonishment crossed Tilopi's eyes. He stood up, walked to the iron bars of his cell, and caught a faint, ethereal fragrance wafting from her. It made him feel lightheaded, and his body stirred instantly.
"He was taken away."
Pointing her pistol at him through a certain distance, Shangguan Ranran ignored the malice and lewd grin in his eyes and demanded, "Where was he taken?"
Tilopi took a deep breath, inhaling her fresh scent. "Mmm, even your voice sounds so sweet."
Raising her voice to make her demeanor even colder, Shangguan Ranran pressed, "I asked you, where was he taken? Do you think I won't shoot you right now?"
Tilopi sneered, his gaze turning even more obscene. "Is that a toy tranquilizer gun? Go ahead, shoot right here." He pointed at his own chest.
It made Shangguan Ranran's stomach churn with revulsion. Without a moment's hesitation, she aimed at his chest and pulled the trigger.
Shock flashed across Tilopi's eyes before he slumped heavily to the floor.
"Boss?"
"Boss?"
His subordinates sprang to their feet, peering through the iron bars in disbelief.
