Chapter Ninety-Four: Three Girls [Subscription Request]

He coughed softly and gave an apologetic smile. “Sorry. I only just saw the message, so I’m a bit late.”

“Next time something like this happens, do your best not to clash with them. It’s fine to give up the contribution points or whatever they want; the important thing is to keep yourselves safe. I’ll double everyone’s pay this month. As for the next two days, close up and take the holiday first. I’ll deal with this matter and then we’ll talk.”

He Shen could tell that the few girls in the shop had been frightened. He spoke up to comfort them. He truly had not expected such a thing to happen. He had only thought he was buying some materials, and that there should not be any trouble. He had not imagined that someone would actually come hunting for him over even that.

Zhu Qing nodded and, following He Shen’s words, comforted the other girls as well. After all, these people had all been brought here by her, so when anything happened, she was the one who had to stand in front first.

He Shen went straight to one of the Peach Blossom Retreat Commerce shops, contacted the manager through his mother, and secured a luxurious private room reserved for guild members. Then he led the three girls inside.

After all, this could be considered his first official meeting with the three sisters of the Zhu family. Back then, Zhu You and Zhu Qing had helped him quite a lot, so treating them to a meal was only right.

Zhu Qing was still wearing a red combat outfit today, as always fond of red. But since she had to oversee the shop, she had changed into a pair of tight sky-blue trousers that accentuated her long, slender legs. Her hair was tied back in a neat ponytail, making her look capable and sharp.

When He Shen usually communicated with her, Zhu Qing handled her status and manner of speech with great precision. Today, however, because of the sudden turn of events and Battle Fish’s arrival, there was an added trace of reverence in her eyes.

Zhu You was the thinnest of the three sisters, with shoulder-length hair and a pink hoodie, yet even so it could not conceal the fair skin revealed at her neck and collarbones. Her eyes had the look of utter innocence.

After He Shen met her gaze, a faint blush would appear on Zhu You’s face, and it reminded him of how she had once curled up asleep on his bed in that rented room.

If not for the unusual circumstances now, a girl so obedient and well-behaved that she would go along with anything if you married her home would surely never grow tiresome, no matter how long you spent with her.

As for Zhu Ke, after seeing her in person again, many memories surfaced in He Shen’s mind.

She had been in the same class as him, though in class she had always seemed so self-effacing that she had hardly any presence at all. The only thing He Shen remembered vividly was that she really had developed quite well.

Looking at her now, compared with her two older sisters, Zhu Ke was clearly fuller in figure, yet because she was also the shortest, she gave the impression of a self-possessed little doll.

The three girls were all strikingly beautiful, the sort of faces that would draw attention at a glance in any crowd.

Aside from Zhu Qing, the other two girls were very restrained. Zhu Ke and Zhu You had not suffered quite as much under their sister’s protection, but they had still never been to such a fine restaurant.

“It’s fine, just relax. Think of it as your own home.”

He Shen told the girls not to be so tense, then briefly asked Zhu Qing about the shop and told her to send him the recent transaction records later, especially regarding the people who had come to cause trouble today.

As he ate, He Shen chatted idly with Zhu Qing.

Although he deliberately kept his tone easygoing, the change in status still made everything feel very different from when he had been at Little City Story before.

There was a dish on the table that was somewhat like wontons, and for no reason at all, He Shen suddenly remembered taking Zhu You to the wonton shop near her home before. Back then, Zhu You could still speak to him shyly for a few words. But today, she had not said a single thing.

“Zhu You, eat more.”

He Shen picked some food for her, and Zhu You nodded weakly before taking a small bite of rice. Zhu Ke, sitting beside her, froze for a moment, then pressed her lips together and lowered her head.

Seeing the expressions on her two younger sisters, Zhu Qing seemed to have guessed something.

Although Zhu Ke had never openly said that the boy she had once confessed to was He Shen, after He Shen revealed his identity, Zhu Qing had also looked into it and found that He Shen and her sister Zhu Ke had indeed been in the same school and the same class.

Taking a deep breath, Zhu Qing directly spoke in front of He Shen.

“Boss, I’d like to discuss something with you.”

“Even though you call me boss, I’ve always treated all of you as friends. I don’t like all those strange formalities outside, otherwise I wouldn’t have handed the shop over to you.”

Zhu Qing took a sip of the drink in front of her and said, somewhat hesitantly, “It’s mainly about my two younger sisters. I want to talk to you about them.”
