Chapter 116: Negotiation and Maneuvering! Information from the Moonlight Civilization!
“There are some people I need to take away. If I cannot, then from this moment on, I will launch indiscriminate attacks on all life here, and relentlessly pursue you and your so-called master.”
Watching his father asleep inside the crystal container, Yi Shen couldn’t sense the true flow of energy within, but anger still welled up inside him.
He refused to believe the other side’s claim that the information anchor could not be released. Since they already knew his father’s whereabouts, there was no way Yi Shen would return empty-handed.
“I don’t have the authority,” the semi-spirit trembled slightly as it felt the violent surge of energy.
“Then find someone who does,” Yi Shen said bluntly.
Without hesitation, Yi Shen surged upward, unleashing forbidden spells to their fullest extent, pressing the enemy with overwhelming force.
He could even predict that if he launched these forbidden spells directly at the core structure, it wouldn’t take long before it collapsed entirely.
The semi-spirit fell silent, seemingly communicating rapidly. Finally, after an urgent exchange, it relented under pressure.
“The planar anchor is tied to the stability of the planar passage; it cannot be released.”
“Besides, we cannot guarantee the truth of your promise.”
Yi Shen glanced at the semi-spirit.
Then, the fiery red energy from the sky poured down in a torrent, directly assaulting the core building.
This was a battle of wills, but Yi Shen disliked being threatened with such excuses.
Countless wind blades sliced away the edges of the core building, causing the heavens and earth to tremble. Increasingly, moonlight energy overflowed.
The moonlight mirror images on the outskirts hesitated, unsure whether to act.
Crystal beasts from afar were rushing over as well.
They seemed to have fully grasped that Yi Shen was an unreasonable force who might raze this place to the ground if the captives were not released.
At last, the semi-spirit gave in: “You may take three people.”
“Ten,” Yi Shen countered, not pushing too hard. Among the large group from Peach Blossom Dock, there were at least seven or eight inside; naturally, Yi Shen wanted to rescue as many as possible.
“Ten is too many. The planar passage cannot remain stable,” the semi-spirit replied.
“Then there’s no deal,” Yi Shen resumed his assault. He had to make them understand that if they refused, he had the power to annihilate the entire area.
At that point, stability of the passage would be the least of their concerns; they might not even be able to cross anymore.
Finally, after severe damage to a large section of the core building, the semi-spirit conceded.
Just as Yi Shen suspected, the claim of preserving planar passage stability was merely an excuse. Faced with overwhelming power, they chose to compromise.
Soon, under the escort of several purple semi-spirits, special crystal containers were delivered.
They pulsed with energy—mostly containing members of the Peach Blossom Dock group, along with a few fortunate souls lost within the realm of moonlight.
Unfortunately, according to the semi-spirits, the planar anchor did not necessarily require its subjects to be alive. For example, Zhao Weimin’s body was already dead, with no chance of revival.
Within the Peach Blossom Dock group, five were alive, while two had already lost their life force. Yi Shen enveloped them in moonlight energy and unleashed the Healing Spring upon them, gradually restoring their bodily functions, though they would need time before awakening.
Honestly, Yi Shen never expected to rescue his father through such a serendipitous turn of events. But if this could bring everything to an end, sparing these semi-spirits seemed reasonable.
With a foundation of goodwill, Yi Shen honored his promise, withdrew the forbidden spells, and began communicating with the other side.
This was Yi Shen’s first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization.
Though the encounter was far from friendly, he gained valuable information. And through dialogue with the moonlight semi-spirits, Yi Shen realized that the recent invasion of Blue Star and the energy fluctuations across various regions were far more complex than imagined.
Yi Shen’s primary mode of communication with this semi-spirit civilization was through moonlight energy information exchange. In their world, this dim light energy was called “Holy Light.” The “holy” here differed from that of a paladin’s sacredness; it primarily originated from the “Master’s” blessing. Long ago, they once possessed an immense world.
But suddenly, one day, their world shattered, exposing itself to the void and fragmenting into countless pieces. Their civilization persisted in one fragment, while the “Master” decreed that no one was to leave the moonlight tribe’s territory.
Yet, some moonlight beings disobeyed the Master’s guidance. They discovered changes in other regions—numerous “secret realms” had appeared, along with special “enemies” attacking them. Every so often, the entire world would descend into chaos, except for the areas protected by the Master’s blessing, which remained stable. Some races required the Master’s “Scepter” to anchor and traverse between regions for expansion.
The information given by the semi-spirits was intricate, and Yi Shen only grasped fragments. However, he discerned several vital details.
First, humans were not the first to enter their world. According to the Master’s records, humans were already the sixth civilization to enter the realm of moonlight. They had some contact with the previous civilizations, which suddenly vanished one day.
Second, this time’s aggression was not initiated by them. The Master’s will was for the moonlight tribe to remain reclusive. The current invasion was triggered by the theft of the scepter used to stabilize the region, which had been taken to another fragment, causing spatial instability. Thus, they had to cross planes to retrieve the scepter.
Using the scepter and moonlight emissaries’ coordinates, they pinpointed the planar gate and launched a counter-invasion on the intruders’ world. The Master’s will was also testing what Blue Star’s civilization represented. Among the six invasions, Blue Star’s was the weakest. They hadn’t expected to encounter such a formidable explorer as Yi Shen—who inexplicably wielded the Master’s power.
Third, the scepter’s power was gradually restoring. After it was stolen, the Master struck at the thief, causing the scepter to become unclaimed. In about three days, it would unfold to form a new domain. They would need to reclaim the rights to the scepter as it expanded.
