Chapter Seventy-One: Joyful Return to the New Home

“Central District!”
“Interstellar City!”
“Is it like the imperial capital’s interstellar city?”
“Of course it is! We’re in an advanced civilization now—it must be far superior to the Galactic Empire’s capital. Didn’t you hear? Planetary fortresses can be installed in mere minutes!”
“No wonder Her Highness is still a princess, even among advanced civilizations. She even has a city of her own!”
“That’s nothing. She’ll be a Saintess one day. I heard that the Saintess’s domains aren’t measured by star regions, but by civilizations. Even an ordinary mid-level civilization here is countless times greater than the entire Milky Way.”
The crowd buzzed with excitement and flattery, making Sang Sang’s lips twitch in exasperation.
Jun Shi was surprised too—mostly delighted. He gestured for everyone to lower their voices, not wanting to embarrass themselves before the experts from the Temple. They represented the whole Galactic civilization. After greeting Sena, he moved aside to discuss arrangements. Although their power levels differed greatly—and Jun Shi was only in his thirties and hadn’t come of age in the Temple—his position in the logistics corps equaled Sena’s. He couldn’t afford to be timid.
“Jun Shi’s not bad,” Sang Sang nodded slightly, shoving an energy crystal into the mouth of the fuzzy ball trying to smother her with its plump body. She sat sideways on the white wolf’s back, feeding energy to Bai Ye. “You’re all distinguished now, so stop acting spoiled.”
“He’s not arrogant, and he’s good at managing people. None of us have the patience for that,” Tom agreed. Though it was called a logistics corps, most members were handpicked elites hoping to reach Celestial, Stellar, Void, or even Profound rank, while a few had different motives. Sang Sang understood this, and accepted it. Conflicts were inevitable with such a mixed group.
Ideally, the Celestial Emperor would manage Sang Sang’s logistics team. But he was impatient, and Jin wasn’t around. The other members of the Celestial Way were either too young, preoccupied with reading, cooking, or cultivation. Only Jun Shi, a royal of the Galactic Empire and appointed by Jun Lin to care for Sang Sang, had Xiao Lang’s support and naturally became the chief steward.
Sang Sang didn’t mind letting the Galactic civilization benefit from her success through the Temple’s influence, which was one reason she came: “Has everyone chosen their guardians?”
“Though the Temple considers us underage, we’re mature enough mentally. Guardians have too much authority, and unlike you, we don’t need public figures for guidance. We all picked elders over a hundred as nominal guardians from among our own,” Tom explained, nodding at the Celestial Emperor currently bullying the fuzzy ball. “Tsk, matching outfits.”
Sang Sang rolled her eyes. “That’s the Temple Academy uniform. He couldn’t wear his old clothes.”
Tom didn’t mention the Emperor’s endless spatial containers—stockpiled with food and clothing. Every civilization they passed through, he gathered specialty garments, jewelry, food, and raw materials, mostly from looting.

Hu Yang interjected, “You fought the Celestial Emperor? Who won?”
Sang Sang thought for a moment. “I didn’t lose, and he didn’t fall. Call it a draw.”
Tom sighed, “What a shame. I wanted to see you knock his teeth out.”
Sang Sang gave a forced smile. “Sorry to disappoint. It was just a friendly match, but you can tell his combat strength is nothing like before. What did you do on the road?”
Tom shrugged. “Worried you’d leave us behind, so we challenged Uncle Kane daily for training. Whenever we had time, we sought out exotic beasts and star beasts, collecting ingredients along the way. We challenged young geniuses from major civilizations—never had a dull moment.”
Hu Yang added, “The Celestial Emperor could condense his star core and break through at any time, but he insisted on waiting until he saw you.”
Sang Sang glanced at the Emperor, who was playing with the fuzzy ball, then raised her voice: “Attention, everyone! To celebrate our victorious reunion, we’ll have a banquet tonight—help yourselves to Temple specialties. Everyone must attend. The location is the castle garden on Celestial Way Star. Also, Jin is collecting your future career preferences, so send your answers to him via terminal. He’ll arrange your study plans accordingly.”
Someone asked, “Your Highness, we’re your logistics corps—can we have other jobs?”
Sang Sang waved dismissively. “Of course! Pursue your interests. If you make money, I get a share! But for now, the priority is learning and adapting. We’ve made it to an advanced civilization—seize the opportunity! One day, you’ll bring beauty to the Milky Way.”
Thousands of people, under Jun Shi and Xiao Lang’s organization, split into a dozen teams. The fifteen attendants left by Bishop Anthony led them, queueing to board tour vehicles heading to the coordinates of the interstellar city provided by Sena.
The Celestial Way group boarded the shuttle Sang Sang had arrived in. Jun Shi and Xiao Lang were among them, Ling Xiao squeezed in desperately, the white wolf followed closely, and Green Bud insisted on bringing her unicorn. Fortunately, the shuttle’s space was vast—no crowding, even with several large pets. Sena took the driver’s seat, leaving room for Sang Sang and her old friends to catch up.
Before settling in, the Celestial Emperor handed Sang Sang a pile of food—ferocious beasts he’d hunted en route, processed and saved by Tom. “See how thoughtful I am? I saved all the good stuff for you.”
“As if I were as much of a foodie as you,” Sang Sang replied insincerely, thinking how she hadn’t cared much about food before, but after spending time with the Emperor, she’d caught his habits and grown picky. She missed Tom’s cooking.
He ignored her protest. “Eat up! I used time stasis to keep them fresh—they’re still hot.”
Green Bud pounced, “Tiantian, I want some too!”

Little Dragon Lord scooted over to Sang Sang, eyeing the heap of food. “There’s so much—Sang Sang can’t finish it all. I’ll help!”
The Emperor waved him off. “Away with you! You two already ate your share on the road. Dragon Lord, you need to lose weight. Green Bud, you’re a plant—what do you need meat for?”
“My name is Chi Xi Ling, not Dragon Lord. Sang Sang says I look cute when I’m chubby, so I’m not dieting anymore!” His tail bounced up, curling around a giant cake, its fruit hand-picked by the Emperor.
“I’m a Cosmic Vine, not a plant—I can eat anything!” Green Bud bared her teeth, her hair turning into vines that snaked toward the food. Greedier than anyone, she tried to scoop up everything with her abundant hair.
Ling Xiao, seeing this, spread his wings, chirped, and sprawled across the food pile, pinning Green Bud’s hair under him, head buried in the food as he ate voraciously.
“My cake!”
“Big fuzzball, biting my hair? Watch me smack you!”
Chaos erupted instantly. Food, vines, water dragons, icicles, and fireballs flew everywhere.
The Emperor’s face turned dark with rage. He handed Sang Sang a big bag of sliced braised meat, clenched his fists, and dove into the fray, shouting, “You brats need a lesson—today’s your day of reckoning!”
Sang Sang and her companions retreated to the corner behind the driver’s seat, leaving space for the Emperor to discipline the unruly bunch. Jin offered Sang Sang Temple specialty candies, patting his chest and assuring her to enjoy herself—he’d handle the logistics team. Then he handed sweets to Jun Shi and Xiao Lang and got down to business: how to package Sang Sang with Galactic flair so she’d dazzle the advanced civilization in the upcoming soul magic trials.
