Since there was no way to avoid it, Sun Licheng rose to his feet and walked beneath the divine pillar. Dropping to one knee, he said, “Great Majesty, I prepared most of this food myself.”

The instant Sun Licheng finished speaking, white light shot down from the divine pillar and swiftly enveloped him in a cocoon of radiance.

“Oh? What a peculiar little fellow.”

A mass of energy marveled from beyond the sea of Sun Licheng’s consciousness.

As a god, the God of Cuisine and Pleasure could penetrate the consciousness of any living being. He had never expected to be stopped outside the mind of a goblin, and was consequently rather surprised.

Realizing that Sun Licheng must possess something extraordinary, His Majesty did not force his way in as the Lord of Stars had once done. Instead, he waved a hand and conjured a virtual space.

He was fairly satisfied with the virtual space, which resembled a palace. Then, in his still unformed state, His Majesty raised a hand and sent a stream of consciousness directly into the depths of Sun Licheng’s mind.

Before long, a nearly six-foot-two, powerfully built, masculine middle-aged man appeared within the virtual space.

“Little fellow, aren’t you a goblin? How have you become a human now?”

The God of Cuisine and Pleasure sat upon his throne and asked the man in bewilderment. As it turned out, the burly man was Sun Licheng, and this was his appearance on Earth.

“That is a long story. In truth, I am a human. It was only through a twist of fate that I became a goblin.”

Sun Licheng gave a bitter smile.

“Enough. I have no interest in your story.”

The divine sovereign waved a hand, cutting Sun Licheng off, then continued, “I like the food you make. Your wine in particular is very unusual. Tell me, exactly how do you produce it?”

Sun Licheng thought for a moment, then began by explaining alcohol fruit.

Ever since his battle with the Silver Moon Goddess, Sun Licheng had gained a true understanding of how powerful the gods of this world were. The deity before him appeared far more formidable than the Silver Moon Goddess, so he abandoned any thought of resistance and honestly described the process of making blended wine.

“Stop, stop!”

After a while, the God of Cuisine and Pleasure called out in exasperation, metaphorical black lines covering his face. Although he possessed middle divine power and was almost omniscient within this world, understanding another world was still extremely difficult. Combined with Sun Licheng’s half-baked explanation, the god was thoroughly bewildered after listening for only a short time.

His Majesty considered the matter, then said to Sun Licheng, “How about this? Teach those ogres how to make this Amber Light, and have them offer it to me regularly from now on.”

“No problem. I will certainly teach them. But Your Majesty, they cannot become immune to every poison as I have, so they will be unable to develop new varieties of Amber Light.”

“Oh? You can make an even better Amber Light?”

The god’s eyes immediately lit up.

“I would not say better, but it would certainly have a slightly different flavor.”

Sun Licheng scratched his head and smiled.

“That will do. Let them learn to make this one first. There is no need to rush the new variety.”

The god sounded somewhat disappointed. As a deity, he had no shortage of fine wines and spirits; he simply had never tasted Sun Licheng’s blended liquor. Since the difference was merely one of flavor, there was no need for urgency.

Seeing that the naked deity, who resembled a statue of David, seemed satisfied, Sun Licheng immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Then His Majesty smiled and said, “I am very pleased with your performance. The cost of producing your Amber Light is extremely low, which means it can allow more people to taste true fine liquor. My faith, in turn, will spread more widely.”

The god blinked, then continued, “Therefore, I shall give you a gift.”

Seeing the faintly wicked smile on His Majesty’s face, Sun Licheng was somewhat stunned. But just then, the god raised his hand. A flash of light flickered, and Sun Licheng knew nothing more.

The next morning, dawn shone through the tent like flowing water, while the white mist among the trees drifted outside like rouge.

Sun Licheng sat up in bed and stretched luxuriously.

“How did I get back yesterday?”

Sun Licheng was filled with confusion. He remembered only being rendered unconscious by the God of Cuisine and Pleasure. Everything afterward consisted of a series of absurd memories, with not the slightest recollection of how he had returned home.

“What exactly did that bastard do to me?”

Sun Licheng shook his still-heavy head, trying to clear it.

But at that moment, he saw a long, pale leg on the bed, smooth and translucent as jelly.

Sun Licheng froze. Following the leg upward with his eyes, he discovered a golden-haired elven girl sleeping soundly beneath his fur blanket.

“Oh, hell!”

Cold sweat instantly broke out across Sun Licheng’s body.

Looking at the girl, who was clearly naked, then at his own unclothed body, and finally at the faint spots of blood on the hide, Sun Licheng realized that all those dreams had actually been real.

He was still standing there in a daze when the girl awoke. She glanced at him, then drowsily closed her eyes again and murmured, “Sun Licheng, stop being lazy and hurry up to work. You promised me a piece of scented soap today.”

“That voice sounds so familiar. Where have I heard it before?”

Sun Licheng muttered to himself. Suddenly, his heart jolted, and he shouted, “Caroline?”

The girl was startled fully awake by his cry. Furious, she roared at Sun Licheng, “Why are you shouting so early in the morning? Do you want me to beat you senseless?”

Her expression was like that of a dragon breathing fire.

But once she finished shouting, she stared at the naked Sun Licheng and froze.

The Sun Licheng before her had changed completely. He was much taller, with an extremely handsome face and not the slightest trace of a goblin left in him. He was unmistakably a noble elf. The only feature he shared with his former appearance was his skin, which remained faintly green—though now it was an exceptionally pale shade.

Of course, none of that was the point. The point was that Sun Licheng was standing completely naked, exposing his generously endowed manhood, which was still very much at attention.

“You are Caroline?”

Sun Licheng asked the astonishingly voluptuous elven woman before him.

The elven girl nodded unconsciously, her entire attention evidently focused on herself.

Caroline looked at her arms, smooth as silk, then touched her own face. She remained frozen for several seconds before suddenly bursting into tears and crying at the top of her lungs.

Sun Licheng had intended to comfort her and say something about taking responsibility, but Caroline wailed instead, “I am no longer a warrior of the Blazing Flame Tribe! Gods above, I do not want to become a weakling! I want to remain a brave ogre!”

“Er…”

Sun Licheng was speechless.

An hour and a half later, inside the chief’s great tent of the Blazing Flame Tribe, a group of leaders headed by Barritt sat in a circle. In the center of the tent stood a handsome young elven couple.

“Sun Licheng, quite a few things happened yesterday. The Great Shaman will explain the details to you. In addition, His Majesty, the God of Cuisine and Pleasure, has left behind a divine oracle.”

Barritt glanced at Sun Licheng, who had already become an elf, and spoke slowly.
