Three days after the Wind Demon Catastrophe incident, Zhao Tianhe’s body remained in an extremely severe state of reconstruction. His condition had not improved; in fact, it had worsened. He had gone without sleep for three full days and was only now able to rest under the care of a professional medical mage.

In Zhao Tianhe’s room, a plump middle-aged man silently recorded his physical condition in a notebook as he observed him floating within a magical array. The man gestured with both hands in the air, and two pale green magical circles appeared over Zhao Tianhe’s chest and lower abdomen.

After leaving the room, Jeros hurriedly approached and asked, “Doctor, how is his condition?”

“It’s more troublesome than we expected,” the middle-aged medical mage shook his head. “If this were an ordinary person, they wouldn’t have survived even a hundred lives. Multiple areas within his body show extensive severe cellular mutations. These mutations are benign, so the Hero System won’t correct them, but the strain on his body is immense. In the short term, forget about working in the dungeon—he might even struggle to move properly.”

“I’ve applied a double-layered continuous healing array on him, but that only eases his pain so he can rest properly,” the doctor cautioned. “It’s best to have someone constantly monitor his condition and notify me immediately if anything happens.”

“Understood,” Jeros nodded and set off to find a caregiver skilled in medical magic.

Inside the room, Zhao Tianhe’s sleeping face furrowed occasionally, and his muscles twitched—a clear sign his condition was grave.

The medical mage left the apartment and returned to the clinic within the community.

Upon entering his office, the doctor took out a communication crystal and cast a spell to connect a signal.

“Bal Island, ID 303, Doctor Dildit speaking,” he addressed the crystal. “I am sending the diagnostic report on S+ sealed individual Zhao Tianhe.”

“The causal intensity is clearly inconsistent; his talent system doesn’t match his causal fluctuations. It’s suspected that his extraordinary abilities stem from linking to some special entity, though the exact nature of this connection remains unknown.”

“Judging from his experiential data, the abnormalities might not originate from another world. I recommend a thorough investigation of the dungeons and surrounding environments he previously inhabited.”

Doctor Dildit was a special operative directly affiliated with the Association headquarters, posing as a physician on Bal Island to conduct detailed examinations of occasionally appearing sealed individuals.

Clearly, the examination results were unfavorable—there were many suspicious points regarding Zhao Tianhe.

The talent systems of all heroic spirits arise because a certain ‘possibility’ in their original world is severed, becoming a concrete manifestation of causal law, a kind of weapon, whose strength naturally varies.

Tian Xie, for example, bore the key to world salvation or destruction in his own realm, which granted him terrifying powers.

But Zhao Tianhe was different. Though his life on Earth was bright and legendary, compared to Tian Xie, it was hardly remarkable.

In other words, the causal intensity linked to his talent system’s power was obviously mismatched.

More importantly, Zhao Tianhe’s causal types were ordinary—‘accumulated good deeds’ and ‘fame’—with nothing special.

Theoretically, he shouldn’t be able to summon something like the powerful evil god hero spirits Tian Xie connected to, but rather some ordinary enhanced talent.

Yet, in reality, he could summon formidable heroic spirits like Artoria and Elena, and even wield powerful treasures like the Wheel of Victory and the Unlimited Sword Technique.

Moreover, his talent system had developed a terrifying ability to distort the Hero System and reconstruct his body’s essence.

Considering his formerly weak background, there was clearly something amiss.

At first, his potential was merely ordinary S+ rank, so the Association did not pay much attention. But now, as a sealed individual of this level, who could pose a great threat to social stability, a thorough investigation was imperative.

“How’s Li Mei, the designated sealer for Zhao Tianhe? Is she ready to take over?” a voice came from the communication crystal.

“I’ve watched Li Mei grow up; she’s upright, kind, diligent, and morally sound. No issues there,” Dildit considered before replying. “If anything happens, she won’t abandon Zhao Tianhe—I guarantee that.”

“Very well, then designate Li Mei as the sealer. It’s best to avoid any additional stimulus to the sealed individual,” came the response. “Continue monitoring Zhao Tianhe’s condition.”

“Don’t worry, I’ve hidden observation runes within the healing array,” Dildit assured.

“Good. Contact me if there’s any new development.”

Meanwhile, in Zhao Tianhe’s room, a burly middle-aged woman was carrying a chubby Pixie and tossing her out of the room.

“Hey! I’m practically Zhao Tianhe’s mother—or no, grandmother! How can you do this?!” Pixie shouted, clutching her phone and snacks, kicking the door.

“My dear, the Hero Lord’s condition is dangerous. Don’t speak so loudly; let him rest,” the caregiver smiled wryly, opening the door crack.

“That’s why I have to watch him constantly!” Pixie pouted in displeasure.

“You can wait outside. The room must remain absolutely quiet!” the caregiver warned sternly.

“Fine, fine, young people these days have no understanding...” Pixie huffed, sitting by the door and lying on her phone, snacking as she played.

The caregiver closed the door and sighed as she looked at Zhao Tianhe.

Though the healing array was in place, his body temperature was high, requiring constant temperature regulation or cooling spells.

After more than an hour of work, Zhao Tianhe’s temperature finally stabilized, allowing the caregiver a rare moment to rest and drink some water.

Click, click. Click, click.

Suddenly, the faint sound of metal clashing caught her attention. She set down the cup and followed the noise.

The source was the storage room next door. She lit a magical lamp and examined a pile of metal objects stacked in a corner.

They were oddly shaped metal armor pieces of unknown material, heavy and rough, with chaotic colors and patterns.

“They seem to be scrap metal forcibly fused together by magic,” the caregiver observed carefully. “What’s the point of these? Hmm, one piece is broken.”

She picked up a battle skirt armor with a large tear in the crotch area.

Yet the strange thing was, this supposed scrap metal kept trembling...

Crack!

A red current flowed over the shattered skirt, causing the caregiver to quickly throw it aside.

“No, that’s not electricity...” she paused, noticing no static or electric shock on herself. The red current must be some energy resembling electricity.

Meanwhile, Zhao Tianhe, who had just calmed down, suddenly opened his eyes and convulsed violently. He arched backward to prop himself up, then rolled on the floor due to instability.

Hearing the noise, the caregiver rushed in to see him rolling with eyes turned white, as if possessed.

Frightened, she immediately cast a healing spell.

Zhao Tianhe’s body gradually stabilized.

The caregiver lifted Zhao Tianhe onto the bed and laid him flat, but what she saw next terrified her.

The healing arrays that had been over his chest and abdomen had completely vanished!

In their place were straight red lines resembling circuit diagrams, faintly visible.

Alongside them were numerous twisted, writhing totems shaped like flames, glowing bright crimson.

Startled, the caregiver hesitated but then decisively pushed open the door and ran out. She knew this was beyond her ability and she had to find the doctor.

Yet her actions were unnecessary: at the very moment the healing arrays were broken on Zhao Tianhe’s body, Doctor Dildit, hundreds of meters away in his office, sensed something wrong with his observation array.

Without hesitation, he rushed toward the apartment villa. Whether the runes had been detected or the healing arrays damaged, the situation was dire.

Outside the room, Pixie nearly got stepped on by the anxious caregiver.

“Hey! What’s going on?! Can’t you see the old man is resting?!” Pixie shouted angrily, but the caregiver ignored her.

At that moment, Zhao Tianhe groaned, and a wave of heat surged from his body.

Seeing Zhao Tianhe’s state and the scorched bedsheets, Pixie flew over quickly.

“It’s time for me to act...” Pixie patted her round belly, slowly rising, and then delivered a flying kick aimed at Zhao Tianhe’s forehead.

“Take this! The Power of the Fairy!”

Buzz—

Since gaining enhanced perception, Zhao Tianhe rarely heard such ringing in his ears.

But now, he felt comfortable, his body warm as if fresh from a hot spring.

“Ah... hmm!” He stretched lazily, shifting to lie on his side, but suddenly smelled something burning.

Opening his eyes, he saw the bedsheet scorched for unknown reasons.

“What’s going on?” Zhao Tianhe touched the sheet—it was hot, probably around one or two hundred degrees Celsius—but he felt no discomfort.

Moreover, he sensed a strange presence nearby, something familiar and close, like his own flesh and blood.

He got out of bed and walked into the adjacent storage room, staring at the ragged metal armor in the corner, stunned.

“What am I...?”

Raising his hand, he gently clenched it. A flash of red electricity appeared, and a bronze, cone-shaped short sword materialized in his palm. The straight red lines on the blade gradually faded away.

“Modification complete?!”
