Chapter One: Descent
Countless planets fill the grand universe, centuries layered upon centuries.
Within an atmosphere, tens of thousands of towering dark entities, each ten yards high, hovered above the clouds. A vast, unprecedented concentration of black energy blanketed the sky, an oppressive shroud that felt like the end of days.
“The Cambrian truly lives up to its name…”
“Hahaha… the barrier…”
“We have waited nearly a hundred million years…”
“All insignificant humans will be annihilated…”
…
“All squads, activate the Star-Slaughter Formation!”
A cacophony of thunder roared, black clouds descended upon the world, and a sound as if it had shattered the fabric of ages reverberated through every corner of space. In the sky, black chains linked each dark energy creature, weaving an immense circle that sealed off space, billions of yards across.
Beneath this circle, humans were as insignificant as blades of grass, as powerless as ants. The darkness pressed down upon them, black flames searing flesh and bone, until bolts of black lightning, as wide as a man is tall, struck and reduced all to ash, leaving no hope of return.
The Lock of Time and Space: all things fixed!
Black Void Flame, Thunder of Ten Thousand Calamities!
…
“Divine Star-Lock Annihilation Spell? As expected of the creatures from Black Demon Star… what a grand gesture.”
He was the guardian of this blue planet, known to mankind as the Sky, or a god. But he had not foreseen that after just a few hundred million years, the world he once watched over would soon become a vassal to the Black Demon Star.
Though he was the guardian, he was nothing before the high-dimensional cultivation civilizations. At this moment, a desperate stratagem occurred to him.
Govern by noninterference.
Let humanity find its own way to avert this apocalypse. But before that, he would have to expend his cultivation of hundreds of millions of years, reverse time and space, and buy humanity precious time…
Once he cast the spell, he would fall into slumber—or perhaps perish. He had never attempted this before. Yet compared to the fate of all humankind, sacrificing his own formless existence was a price well worth paying. This was crucial.
“Ultimate Divine Forbidden Art: Reversal of Time and Space!”
As the Sky chanted the divine incantation, the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, winter—reversed and cycled, like an age of fire and ice reflected in a mirror world…
All rules were shattered; everything played out in reverse like a film sped backward through the universe, vanishing in an instant…
And the creatures of Black Demon seemed never to have existed, until the spell ended.
Time and space froze completely, three years in the past…
Night sky, stars shimmering, streaks of meteors crossing, the heavens like a river of silver—though in truth, these were only superluminal aircraft born of explosive technological advancement.
“Hello, everyone, I’m Little Dora… I’m Little Dora…”
A boy, strikingly like the protagonist, walked handsomely along a country path.
A distant voice reached him, and the corners of his mouth curled with a hint of disdain. He knew without thinking it must be a kindred spirit.
“Hello there, I’m DJ Sheep, the wildest in Verdant Meadow!” he teased, for lack of anything better to do.
Ding: “Sheep” named successfully.
“Dora, fated one Sheep, you’ve finally arrived. Hello, I am Omnipotent Dora.”
No sooner had the words fallen than Dora transformed into a beam of light and shot straight into “Sheep’s” forehead, vanishing without a trace.
“No, I was just joking… I’m not actually called Sheep.”
“Dora, execute!”
Name: Tianming
Age: 20
Strength: 6 (can carry two buckets of water, unlimited)
Soul Power: 7 (includes memory, intelligence, unlimited)
Reflexes: 10
Assets: 3,420 Yuan
Note: Ten thousand adds one point.
“Just asking quietly… can I change this name?”
Dora: “No.”
His weak protest was flatly denied, and the protagonist-like youth could only accept it inwardly.
“Well, better than being called Sheep.” Clenching his fist, Tianming snorted coldly.
…
“Dora, what can you do?” Tianming asked with a smile.
Though he couldn’t use his old name, at least he now had Dora—and a name was only a code.
“Omnipotent Dora, capable of anything, can make you a versatile main character (excluding personal physical stats; versatility means singing, acting, chess, sports, etc., but only for one week, and the money earned must be used to improve your physical attributes).”
“I see. I use my future body to earn future money, then use future money to enhance my future body, right, Dora?”
Tianming’s face shone with excitement; he felt clever and resourceful.
“Yes, Tianming. Additionally, you must complete three extremely difficult tasks.”
“Task One: Raise all attributes to one hundred.” (Nothing money can’t solve; if there is, just earn more.)
“Task Two: Upon completing Task One, you earn the right to train in the Primordial Era, reach a certain stage, then return to your home planet, save all of humanity, and drive out or destroy the Black Demon creatures.”
“Task Three: Develop the minor planet ‘Earth’ into the foremost world of the Primordial Era.”
Tianming…
At this, the corner of Tianming’s mouth twitched. What were these tasks? Did they take him for a savior?
“Dora, you’re really obsessed with money, so vulgar—couldn’t you hack into some bank? That’s where the real money is.” His face showed resignation as he complained.
“Red alert, such actions violate the laws of heaven and are forbidden.”
“All right!” Tianming understood—if that were possible, what use was he as the protagonist?
Thinking this, Tianming immediately straightened up. Who was he, after all, but the future savior of this planet? The enormity of the task made his heart weep—this was too much.
But with Omnipotent Dora by his side, Tianming finally relaxed. At last, he would be someone important.
Unknowingly, Tianming had made his way along the winding paths back to his childhood home.
His home was deep in the mountains and forests; Tianming had heard that his ancestors loved the solitary, undisturbed life, occasionally hunting for fun, so they settled here. But later, with no money, they nearly starved—after all, protecting wildlife was now everyone’s duty.
Creak.
With practiced ease, Tianming pushed open the old wooden door and stepped inside with light, cheerful steps.
But what he saw left him dumbstruck. The once neat courtyard was a mess, filthy and chaotic, cobwebs everywhere.
“Is this really my home? Dora, what’s going on?” Tianming shouted in confusion, quickly coming to his senses.
He didn’t care about much—but this place was sacred, filled with the loved ones he cherished and the happy memories of childhood.
“According to the Protagonist’s Law, parents never appear at the beginning. But don’t worry, Tianming—complete the tasks and you can reunite, and your family will gain immortality.”
“Hmph, now that sounds reasonable.”
Tianming scratched his head and could only sigh.
…
Upon reflection, Tianming found it made sense. The protagonist always stands alone; how could he bring his family to that dangerous Primordial Era? Leaving them here with no one to care for them would worry him, but with Dora’s protection, he felt at ease.
Besides, the rewards were too tempting to resist, so he decided not to struggle.
He cleaned the house, took a bath, and lay on his bed, planning how to earn a fortune the next day.
…
The night passed quietly. Tossing and turning, Tianming gradually drifted into sleep.
